The Melbourne Champs Main Event begins!

The Melbourne Championships are well underway at Crown Casino, with the Main Event culminating the series this weekend. Day 1a began yesterday; Thursday the 12th, and 888PL had two entries in Mike Raines, and Bernard (Barry) Mathot of Victoria both of whom won a weekly Online Saturday Satellite into the $1100 Main Event.

Whilst Mike, a regular to the Melbourne Tournament scene was prepared for a long night of grinding, it was Bernard a nervous local Pakenham player who would shine. We didn’t catch the action but Mike did not make it through to Sunday, however, Bernard currently sits in the top 5 chip counts heading into Day Two. Sitting on just over 96K, he is looking set for a fantastic run in his first Major Tournament.

We all know today is Friday the 13th, but let’s hope there is no unlucky happenings for our 888PL Satellite winners entering today’s Flight. We also have many playing tomorrow as well.

I will update their progress throughout the days and, make sure you are all aware of deep runs by our players.
