Can you fold here???

Postby Snapple » Thu Feb 18, 2010 9:47 pm

Playing 50c/50c PLO, 7 handed.
I am in the big blind with [As] [Ks] [Qd] [4c], UTG straddles to a pot bet of $2. 6 runners to the flop.
The flop lands [Kh] [Kc] [Qh], I flop the nut full and lead out for $6, I get 2 callers. Turn [Ad] I then lead out for $12, 1 player folds 1 calls. The river lands [Ah], I think beautiful stone cold nuts Aces full of Kings. I lead out for $18, player tanks for about 2 minutes. Then announces raise!! WTF?? What do I do??
Spoiler:
In the time he took to raise I realised there was a royal flush draw.
Before he even announced how much he was raising to I show my nut full house and fold.
He says nice fold and shows me [10h] [Jh] for a royal.
Probably the best fold I have ever made.

Yeah, I don't see what else he c/c with's for two streets then decides to raise the river. I mean, all houses are AT LEAST raising the turn (if not the flop).

I also think it's a bad fold, since part of your logic for folding was "Wait, there's a royal draw out there, FOLD!"

There's no other information for us to consider like the players style and history.

You're folding to one hand there Chris. That's a pretty specific read.

Edit: Folding to one better, chopping with one.

if he has a royal, just pay the man. folding is horrible imo.

This. The amount of times he raises there without a royal > the times he has it. Unless there was some other specific information your'e not telling us...
