My first 2 hands of internet poker

Postby krunchie » Mon Sep 08, 2008 12:27 pm

so i got my computer and internet last week ( thanks to those who contributed their knowledge)

couldnt wait to play a bit of Internet poker,

jumped on line, signed up got on a sit and go touney for a grand total of $1

My very first hand

King Queen of hearts. I am big blind blinds 15-30 starting stack 1500

5 players limp in I raise my big blind to 300 get called by 2 players.

Flop Ace of hearts, 6 of hearts and 7 of hearts

U beaty nut flush first hand, I lead out with 300 get 1 folder and 1 caller
Turn 4 I go all in for my remaining 700 and get insta called by player 4

who turns over 2 pair 6 and 4s
river of course is a 4 and i am out of my first interent tourney in my first hand with a nut flush.
Dont mind the beat it happens but why did that player call my first pre flop raise and then i mabey should have made it stronger with 6 4
and then call a 300 bet with a pair of 6s
even all in 700 with 2 pair is a stretch
bloody ntp's

So then i jump onto anthother sit and go for a $1 this time a 90 person comp.

First hand again (im not kidding)
King queen of hearts.
I am the button and 6 people go all in
I say bugger it its only a dollar and go all in

Flop comes k Q Q and I nock 6 people out in the first hand of the comp and go from 1500 chips to 11500
(nursed this stack to 4th)

I know it is only a couple of examples but it was one hell of an intiation
these low stakes internet players are wild

if u wait 50 hands before making any play at all, you will do ok in the micro online poker tourneys.

seriously, unless u have the nuts in the first hour or so, just fold away. all of the all-inners get knocked out, and effectively give you a tourney that has 45 runners, but a 90 runner prize pool.

Welcome to online poker, especially micro-limits! ;)

You'll get all types of crazy plays like people calling massive raises with air and people going all-in on first blind level with marginal holdings just to increase their stack by 3%. You can wait for premium hands and then play them aggressively and most times you will get paid off big as you often get someone calling even when it should be obvious that you have hit a monster, you just have to accept that sometimes you will cop some sick bad beats. My favourite (or should that be un-favourite) bad beat I copped was on the bubble when I flopped a full house of As over Js only to get called and then beaten by a runner runner for the royal flush, ouch!
