The Greatest Match Of All Time??

Postby maccatak11 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 1:06 pm

Surely the Federer-Nadal mens wimbeldon final was the greatest tennis match of all time, well certainly in the last 10 years anyway.

For nadal to win both the french and wimbeldon in one year (the first time since borg in 1980) is one of the most amazing achievements in tennis history, and i think federer proved what an absaloute champion he is - by being so gracious in defeat.

What an amazing match.

For those of you living underground, Nadal won the match
6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7

The match went for over 5 hours. WOW!

People who say tennis has lost its edge and is getting boring can go and get stuffed. Im gonna watch the replay every day for the next week on fox :)

I only saw it up to 6-4, 6-4, 2-2, and Roger looked like he wasn't handling the pressure of going for 5 in a row.. He couldn't hit a winner on any important points.

To take it to 5 sets, he must've turned it on, like he can.

I don't enjoy tennis that much, but those 2 are freaks.

I watched most of it Matty, up until the final set, when it was 6-6, then I bloody fell asleep! :(

Awesome match, though. I was rooting for Roger, but to see Nadal win isn't the worst news - he definitely deserved it. Great stuff.
