Wow I didn't realise it was actually that close. And I have a nice average for 124 games.
If only there was a way to test out who was the better player...
This is a warning, don't limp with AA

Re: This is a warning, don't limp with AA
In a related incident, Tommo limped with KK last night, and got smashed by 27. Yeah, you read that right
Final table, 3 handed, Dave limps for 10k. SB folds and Kara checks in the BB.
Flop: 2 J 2. Kara checks. Dave bets 10k, Kara quickly raises to 20k. Dave shoves all in, Kara insta calls. And Tommo's KK is taken down by 27, trips on the flop
So this is a SECOND warning. Don't limp with KK.

Re: This is a warning, don't limp with AA
I limped with AA the other night, and got paid off MASSIVELY. Something that wouldn't have happened if I had raised. So yay. For those that haven't read my other post:
Blinds 400/800. I have 8k or so, limp from No1 with AA. Fold, all in from JD for 4800, folded to me. I call, he has 8s. We both hit a set on the flop.
So I'm open to limping with AA again

Had the same thing last night, krunch. Except blinds were 400/800, so I at least got something for it.

Re: This is a warning, don't limp with AA
I'm open to limping with AA now. Has to be from UTG or UTG+1, though. I've found it to be very profitable online, and in live poker. Tried just that at the Royal last night and got paid from KTo, for some absurd reason (flop Q44, turn K).
Try new plays, peeps!

short handed, and heads up, i will do it a fair percentage of the time.
on a full table, i have done it a few times, but if there are 5 or 6 limpers, and the board pairs or flushes, then what do you do? it puts you in a tough spot and if can be very easy to either lay it down when ahead, or get beat by some left field hand.
but yeah noone sees it coming, but you have to be prepared to lay it down.
i have also tried d-onk-jamming as well - in micro limit, this works as hands like AJ always seem to call you down.

Re: This is a warning, don't limp with AA
I got pocket Aces 4 times in the one night ... I don't like the hand cos I never know how to play it, so the first time I got it, I decided to flat call pre-flop. (not sure what table you have there, but this was on a 10 seater) This was only the second hand of the night, blinds were 25/50. the flop came J72 rainbow. I was first to act, and bet 50 and only lost 1 of the 8 people in the hand, so then there were 7.
The turn came, it was an Ace, I bet 50, and was instantly raised to $300. I flat called and now there are 5 of us left. the turn was a 2, which could not have been better for me. I bet $100 - and was raised to $300 and re-raised to $1000. - and some folds left only 3 of us in the pot. I took my time, checking my whole cards and sitting back, appearing to be thinking, when someone said, she won't call, it's too big a bet.
On hearing this, I asked why they'd said that and I said, well, guess what, I am calling and pushed my chips in, with the 3rd player snap calling. as the cards we opened, one player had a book, jacks over 2's, another had caught runner runner to give him a flush and I had a book, aces over 2's and took down the pot.
twice more I got aces and just flat called, but they were suspicious after I got them the 2nd time and they played cautiously. the 4th time, I raised the blinds from 300/600 to $1200 - then they were more confused. they said they had no idea what I had, I don't raise preflop with pocket aces, but I have raised now, and they asked me what I had. someone said, she's got the aces again and I said nothing. once the flop came, I bet another $1200 and the 3 players that called were calling again. on the river I bet $3000 and got 2 callers, one of who had hit a king to give him a pair with kj, one player had pocket ladies and the other player was chasing a flush and missed, the pot was mine.
I haven't won with pocket aces since.
