Do you find that playing without cards makes a psychological difference?

I have tried a few times and found I am so much tighter with my game and far less likely to take a risk.

However, I have decided to not use cards at one of the venues I play at regularly because of reading this thread. Maybe this can make someone a better and smarter player?

(Of course I will still support the venue.)

One thing I have noticed is that I have to pay far more attention to how likely I think other players will be to call a raise. I need to identify early on if they are an ace chaser or 'any paint wins' kind of player. So very frustrating playing against that type of player.

Some hands also now lend themselves more to the 'I need to take a risk here' situation. Getting a big stack early is never really that high a priority for me but I do have to make sure I still have at least that 1k by the first break otherwise I'm all-in pretty soon after sitting back down. 2k or more after the break seems to be manageable.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Well tonight I did a zero card challenge like you have done and came 8th out of 59.

I played the final table very badly.

Now for most that is not impressive, but to be honest I am pretty stoked with that.

Big blind so I played a King ? (can't remember the other card) and the flop showed K7K... tripped up first shot.. lol
Then I got luckier again, 2 hands of pocket Aces in a row.. lol
Then pocket Jack's which I normally fold right away, but felt like taking a little bit of a risk which I did and it paid off.

Anyway, I have rambled enough, just wanted to share.
Thanks to anyone that read.
