The person who said that clearly has issues and I am sure when he said that he was probably on tilt and does not really mean it and in real life he's probably a nice boy from the suburbs who stays out of trouble. He probably has learnt to deal with his tilt issues in the last month and has resolved to take his frustrations out a cushion he keeps near the computer.

I am sure he did not mean it and I am sure he is a nice boy from the suburbs... however, it did take me by surprise! ;) I have played on a few tables with him since and he has been very polite, so that cushion seems to be doing its job! :D

I totally read Trishan's post as a joke. He's talking about himself.

Wow, this thread certainly developed over the day.

I don't have much to add apart from this:

I do believe that I am better than a lot of players, I do not hesitate in saying this one bit. I have spent years developing my game to the level it is and I have spent numerous hours studying poker and all of the science and math involved.

I also love helping others develops their game and instructing players on where they might have gone wrong or fixing leaks in their game. I may come across as arrogant some times but that is generally directed at those who ask for help and then throw my advice back at me. If you don't want advice then don't ask for it.

If any of the above labels me as elitist then I am quite willing to include myself in this group. And I have no qualms about the way I am perceived as long as I can continue to help those who ask for it. Nothing is more rewarding than watching the few forum regs develop their game over the last two years to the level it is at now, and I hope I have played some small part in their development.

I also have to add that I do not believe anyone who posts on this forum think as themselves as an elite poker player in any way shape or form.

Sorry I have to add one thing:

I definitely won't mince words when offering advice and if I believe a hand is played terribly, I will say so.

If you post something in the hand discussion thread asking a question but in reality is a thinly veiled brag thread, then again I won't hesitate to shine a light on it.

If you do place a self imposed exile on yourself because I did call you out, then don't label others as elitist, rather have a look at yourself and your post and decide if it apt, humble and warranted. Also if players and myself offer to help your game, don't ignore the request, simply post an emphatic NO; man up, apologise and move on.

If you are here to learn, then great welcome to the hand discussion forum and lets help you out. I look forward to many stimulating conversations and debates.

to be honest garth, i thought you were a bit toolish when you first started commenting on my game. but after a bad streak, i started to realise that most of what you said was spot on the money.

i remember you saying that i was playing like a laggy cash game tard. that stuck with me a bit, and i think i have improved a lot after i stopped and took your advice on board (and got over myself). the results of this help are obvious to me, and probably others as well. i realised that you actually do know what you are talking about, and you were only trying to help.

so the only thing i can say to others is that if there is help willing to be offered, ask for it. if you dont agree with it, say "mmm not sure, ill have a think about it", dont just dismiss it as someone else's opinion. digest if for a day or 2, then come back on and post, not straight away.
