You are right Bob,
Read in a non negative light it is a fairly impartial topic.
My apologies for reading the "cynical" into it. But I am just at that stage where I would like to see a topic headed 'What I love about the NPL and that doesn't need to change" or "I had a really good experience with this TD the other day'.
I guess what it boils down to is that you build this competition, you have a lot of input and you implement ideas that you think players would appreciate, and then you cop almost two weeks of negative emails about staff, the competition, teams event, procedures, prizes and any other little thing.
I receive over 100 emails a day, I am on this forum and receive almost 5 to 20 pm's a day max, I also read every new post on this forum and regularly check the new postings every two hours.
That is a lot of mass communication and let me add, people and staff don't write to me about good experiences or things they are happy about, well not very often anyway.
I apologize to everyone I guess I need a holiday and have become slightly jaded recently. I will take the time to post in a positive manner (and that previous post will stand Bob, a lot of information there for the general public).

Hey G man, perhaps try and keep in mind that it's all too easy for someone to write and complain but it takes a lot more will to bother to sit down and write something nice.
I'd say it's a ratio of about 10:1 (with the 10 being the negative stuff). Not the best odds in your favour
What this means though, is that every good thing you see/hear you can multiply by 10 and suddenly the world is a rosier place.

Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Hi there Garth. I accept your apology and hopefully we can mend some bridges instead of burning the buggas down.
I know from experience it's damned hard trying to please everyone all the time as you can only please some of the people some of the time.
Everyone thinks they could do it better after the fact. However we sometimes have to accept that in hindsight maybe, just maybe, we could have done things a little different.
The forum is a good sounding block as you know regarding this particular topic. NPL wanted to change the prize structure so you put it to the punters asking for their response.
You got a good positive response and by the looks of it your going ahead. I'm AC / DC with either and would be more than happy to be the recipient of any prizes. But at the end of any given day the ball is in your court.
I'm still not sure who won the teams event (haven't had a chance to see if there's a post or not) but I did hear your team was successful. If so congratulation, if not commisurations LOL.
The dust has settled a little since the weekend. And assuming there is going to be another teams event it might be a good idea to see if the Punters would prefer a different points allocation.
So, as to eliminate any negatives on the forum can I suggest the TD's ask for a show of hands at the various venues to give you an idea of what the punters would prefer.
Keep up the good work NPL you guys are appreciated it's just hard for some people to say it out loud, regards Bob B

Admittedly, i don't play as often as others on here, so maybe that's why i haven't experienced anything bad with NPL. Even so, I would like to say that NPL is awesome, everyone involved with bringing it to us on a daily basis does a fantastic job. I've played at a few different venues, and I haven't found a bad thing to say about the way they've been hosted.
Garth, everyone does a great job, don't get disillusioned by what you read here. You can't please all people all the time, no matter what. Some ideas can be worth listening to and implementing, other times you just have to wonder if people reckon they can do better, why aren't they starting their own poker league? It's just easier for some people to whinge.
