Can anyone shed any light on why this call might have been made by the BB with Qc6d?

BB (8k) + 30300 + 27200 = 65900 /22300 = 2.9:1

Is this just one of those calls you make deep in a tourney to try and knock a few people out, or is there something I'm missing?

Andrew Demetriou moved all-in from under-the-gun for 30,300 and found an immediate customer when Kim Vaksman moved all-in for a total of 27,200. With the action folding to Marlon Goonawardana in the big blind he went into the tank for several minutes, asking for a count and pondering a decision. Eventually Goonawardana made the call and the cards were tabled:

Vaksman: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Goonawardana: {Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The board fell {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Vaksman's pair of tens hold to triple him up to nearly 90,000. Demetriou is now in trouble and is left with only 6,200 chips

So 30300, 27200, Plus your 8k from BB, Plus 5k for ante's

So effectively your risking another 22300. for a total of 92.8K. Giving you 1:4 odds.

It was a gamble play. it pays off brilliant, if it doesn't he only loses 8% of chip stack with heaps of room left for gamble.

And the SB (sort of overlooked that one), it is still only approx 75K, so 3.4sh:1

But you are right, I had not considered how small the outlay was compared to stack size.
