Wow Im really suprized, seems there are a few people attacking the professionalism of the NPL business. Some of these arguments are changing prizes, the website etc...

I wonder what experience you have kosta in running a professional business, And being a web developer I can tell you that updates to websites often encounter errors, and fixing them is always A high priority, NPL not being professional because of website errors? WOW, Microsoft, Apple, Google (just to name a few) have all had problems with their websites, I guess if you look hard enough no business out there is professional because no business is perfect.
Cheers

Yeah this is geting a wee bit sillly.

Kosta, I love ya mate but I'm sure if you presented your opinion in a different way you wouldn't have gotten the kind of response you did.

now if we could all try and actually discuss the 'issue' that'd be lovely.

for the record, I do believe Garth said (on here) that he wasn't entirely thrilled himself about players qualifying in the last 2 weeks.

Is the alternative worse? I think perhaps yes, it is. In my own opinion, if the venue wants to join then let them join. Is it a constant feature every season? I'd have to say unlikely.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Studio 89 had a day game for 5 weeks (I think?) so half a season.
Hackney Hotel had games for a short while, and stopped.
Aces had games for a few weeks, and changed.

There are a lot more examples of venues changing the state of play than just these last two.

In the end it doesn't really matter.

Ok guys ive been up all hours reading the forum and all i see is peolpe whinging and whining about this and that. It always seems to end up with its npls fault and mostly garths fault. In a professional business would employees or customers question the ceo or the manager every descision they make etc. Cmon guys be reasonable and ease up on Garth he has enough on his plate already with just the runnning of Npl.

Umm, hate to point the flaw in this arguement, but yes, employees, customers and even shareholders generally scrutinize the decisions of managers and ceo's.

That is why managers and ceo's are paid the money. Take a bank (not exactly a poker business), the CBA ceo is accountable to a whole range of people for every decision, he has the power to make those decisions because of who he is, but generally has to explain to someone why that decision was made. It is called creating a corporate plan/mission statement for those involved.

The human race is an awesome thing to sit back and observe. In any work environment, if a new process is implemented or if a manager is to change anything, you as the worker knows best. Why didn't the manager listen to you if he/she wanted to change things???

bottom line is, you can't please everyone all of the time, but if you sit there and listen (and even throw in the occaisional nod of the head every now and then) and prove that you are listening to what people want, it may not happen, but the majority feel a part of the process. There inlies part of co-operation.

No-one is having a go at Garth from what I can see. However, Garth is the face of NPL in SA. A title that Garth is happy with, he comes to the forum to represent NPL. The players give their own feedback. The comments go two ways too. Garth defends and promotes the NPL position.

Fact: It is finals time, of course everyone is going to lament/comment on how/why they didn't make it. Some will say they didn't play well, others will say it is the qualification process.
