Finaly found a few minutes for my semi finals report

May i first of all say what a nice venu the "ARK" was and well done to Nath and the boys on yet another well run tourney.

I had a bloody great time and while i fell about an hour short of the recombine it was one of the more
enjoyable ways to spend a birthday.

My table was pretty passive, with most players on the table with little or no idea, I did however have the pleasure of playing from hand 1 with JMACK, and this was nothing but a pleasurable experience as the man is a complete gentelman, who happens to be able to play a bit too with yet another deep run in a big game well done mate, Jmack and I have a little history together from the Challenge semi back in January where we ended up heads up against each other, but i verry much enjoyed the oppourtunity to watch the man work from hand 1 and how he goes about his buisness.

I played super tight early and set up my image well, which worked for me becuase i bluffed a few nice pots, but then i started to get a few nice hands that unfortunately i dont belive i extracted max value out of, maybe i needed to donk bet a bit more to build better pots but i should be happy just winning my share of pots I suppose, what was most frustrating was the worst player at the table seemed to pay off everyones big hands but mine, I ended up having 3 sets and a straight against this player and he made correct laydowns everytime.

One of the only negative things I saw about the day was the amount of times players got to the show down and showed their winning hand out of turn, allowing players due to show their cards to muck without showing, if I didnt see this 10 times i will go EEE, and to say it shit me is an understatement as i pay attention to peoples cards at the show down to build ranges for later, unfortunatley this happened everytime when i wasnt in the hand so i didnt belive it was my place to say anthing ( i recon i saw JMac benifit from this more than a few times)

All in all i was pretty happy, the blinds got pretty steep pretty fast and i just couldnt find the big double i needed, and im cool with that, after shoving with ace 5 and getting called by ace jack on a board of kkA, i was very lucky when an ace came on the river to split the pot.
A few hands later i tried to make a move from the small blind and ran smack bang into the big blinds KK and that was it.
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Nice post Krunchie, and likewise, it was a pleasure playing with you again (even though we were supposed to meet up MUCH later in the tourney!!). I am glad you enjoyed yourself even though things didn't all go according to plan.

Look forward to catching up again at the "Bracelet Chase" in Melbourne in June, don't forget I still owe you that B'day beer.... ;)
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!
