One of the 2008 Main Event’s most controversial moments came in the late stages of Day 6 play. It featured two 27-year-old professionals – Brandon Cantu and Nicolai Losev - who both figured prominently in the chip standings, and who both went on downward spirals from this point forward.

Losev was the chip leader, while Cantu had their table’s second-largest stack heading into the hand in question. With $3,295,000 in the pot, the board read Jh-As-8c Ah 4c when Cantu checked the action. Losev grabbed his entire stack of $100,000 lavender chips - around 30 of them - and moved them toward the pot. Then he changed his mind.

Keeping his hand on the stack, Losev brought them back to his seat, then bet out for $1,500,000. Cantu, admitting “I might be slitting my own throat by doing this,” called for a floorman, insisting that Losev had committed his chips to the pot.

The floor in question ruled that the bet wasn’t official until the hand is removed from the chips. Cantu and Michael Carroll argued with tournament director Jack Effel.

Effel finally decreed that Losev’s second bet would stand; Cantu made the call and turned over 8s-8d for the full house. He was the new chip leader, but he’d have liked to have gotten about $1,500,000 more.

Ok
I did see that one and thought it was a bad decision, but you seem some baffling decisions by the TD's at the WSOP which is why I didnt think it as bad, as for the Pralahd Frieman hand, he should have been eliminated from the tourny as the dealer heard him say call and it was because of that the dog man turned over hos hand to claim the pot.
