got dealt QQ from the small blind, i completed the blind and Jmack checked

blinds were 20/40k

flop was q ??, J mack checked i checked, turn was the fourth queen

Jmack checked i min bet for 40k, jmack called ( i was trying to represent an ace at this point)

river was a Jack, jmack checked i was left in a spot of trying to extract value on this hand so i settled on a 60k bet, which j mack reluctantly tank called, i think he got the shock of his life when i tabled my queens.

i was particulalarly proud of that hand as i was able to get 100k out of his already dwindling stack, at a point where he was playing particularly tight and not willing to risk his chips
Does anyone know how to make money playing uno vs 6 year olds, its about the only card game i get to play these days.

Yep, and they were the best played quads I've ever seen. I don't think anyone there could have put you on quads (or even a Q) the way you played that hand mate, well done!

I forgot to thank all those railing as well, you all made a great atmosphere for the entire final table.

and yes......I got Krunched!!!

:)
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

I think I was stuck at my computer collecting details from a GF ticket winner ans missed it. There was no point recording a hand no one got knocked out no, no matter how well it was played :P

Wow, what a day? Believe it or not I'm still pumped and I'm finding it so hard to stop smiling LOL.

Congratulations to Krunchie & Jmack and all the other finalist for such a great day of poker. It was a pleasure just to play against some really, good players throughout the day let alone making the final table.

Making the final table allowed me to complete my final goal that I had set myself at the beginning of last season. Which was to make at least one final table in either of the semis or the Grand Final.

Many thanks must go to Tim and his 888PL crew and also the WAFC for producing another memorable tournament. I"d like to say thanks to the the B&G gang and others who stayed back and supported the FT.

The $1,300 for 4th will go towards the $4,000 concrete job being done this week, LOL. And the $500 GF ticket will be handy for the following GF as I can't use it next month because I'm going to my M8's sons wedding.

Picked up a bit more cash ($500) on Sunday for finishing in the top 20 of the Dream Team. Unfortunately, the "Foundation" game was over for me in around 60 something position.

It's a shame that 888PL are going to discontinue with the "Challenge Event" as a stand alone tourney. I personally found the quality of play was second to none and felt the bigger stack type tournament should continue.

Anyone else feel the same way?
Remember, It takes 8 muscles to smile :D and 40 to frown :(

Hi All,

Although I didn’t win, I thought this was the best place to write a few acknowledgements from Saturday’s tournament.

First of all of course, Krunchie, a sensational display of poker in every aspect. It’s not like you came to the final table with chips to sit on, you were 8/9 and smashed it. That takes an enormous amount of skill and fortitude, and you have bucket loads of both mate, and will go far in the game.

Bob, it was great to finally meet you after countless online encounters. I already knew it, but you confirmed yourself to be a great bloke and absolute gentleman.

Sam Dodd, you seem to be always there in the mix at the end of big tourneys, and with your 5th place in the DT last season have shown that you are a player to be reckoned with. Well done on a great day.

Carmine, what can I say mate, a well deserved 3rd on the DT last season and a great tourney again, I consider you one of my good mates and look forward to us playing many tournaments together in the future.

Jamie, you are probably one of the most solid players I know, and wouldn’t surprise me if you took one of these (or even the GF) down soon.

Dave Larkham, didn’t feature in the money, but ran really deep on both days, that is a top effort mate.

Derek Richards, I watched you go from crippled with 50 runners left, to making the $$! Great effort mate.

Matt Moate, you are too humble (yeah I know no one will believe that!!) you have the game (maybe just need to be a little more patient, and pay more attention to the play around you), and I really appreciated your support on the FT, it was more appreciated than you know. You have the right attitude to go far in this game mate, keep going.

Leigh, thanks for the online rail, Nathan passed your message on during the FT, and it was much appreciated.

Garth, thanks for all the good wishes, I’m sorry I couldn’t produce the epic HU that you hyped, but Krunchie was far too good on the day.

Des, sahara, sunbury, thanks for the “gg” on the forum.

Lastly, Alex, Tim, Nathan, Dakota, Matty, Caleb, and the rest of the 888pl staff for once again putting on a great tournament. Professionally run and extremely enjoyable.

I’m sorry to anyone who was there in support that I should mention, but have forgotten.

Bring on the GF, that’s gonna be a SENSATIONAL weekend!!

Cheers,

Jo

** Just remembered, Pete, you were unlucky mate, way ahead and got sucked out on. As you know, you are one of the few players I don't like seeing on my table (that's a compliment). If you stop picking on me I recon you will take a major tourney down soon!! You were the model of restraint though it must be said!!

Nice writeup Jo.

And LOL - I got to the end and thought "what about Pete?" Haha.

I watched that hand, and that quite easily could have changed everything - Pete would have gone to the FT with almost $200k or more and you were out!

Oh such is poker!

Well played mate :)
