there are 2 reasons u bet

first is for value - i.e u bet to get value out of hands that u beat

second reason to bet is to bluff - i.e to get better hands than you to fold.

i would content that feeler bets are not good. on a board like that, with AK, i am raising most of the time. as you said yourself, it is extremely unlikely that anyone else has hit the board. so your bet really is a bluff, because nothing worse is calling (except ace high, and u aren't getting much value out of them)

From Pokerzon'e Poker Dictionary: link

EXAMPLE: "I made a small feeler bet and folded when my opponent came over the top with a big raise."

Well at the time I intended it as a feeler bet, and I did get called by worse...
And as I hit something, wouldnt that make it a semi-bluff? (if a bluff at all, I would say bluff is the intention behind the bet to?)

I disagree there are only 2 reasons to bet.
there's also the blocking bet, straddle bet, continuation bet?

And as it turns out I did get value from him on the river... He called...

And no I dont see how I am not getting value from betting?????

There's more than two reasons to bet.

How is that not a value bet if he gets called by worse? That's the very definition of a value bet.

calling stations rarely call if they haven't hit. so against calling stations, u are only value towning yourself.

your feeler bet doesn't work because they call anyway. so u dont gain much information anyway
