Internet Runner Runner
Steve Morra has just eliminated a player. All the chips went in on a Ah 7c 6c and Morra was holding Ac Ks to his opponent, who had flopped a set with 7d 7s.
The turn 10c changed the outlook somewhat and the river Jc changed it a whole lot. Runner-runner flush for Morra to take the pot and bust his opponent.
Ted "The Milkman" Melikian was observing the hand and piped up "Internet hand! If I was on the internet, the computer would be out the window."

Re: WSOP News
Overhead During the Break
In the remaining field of 2000+ players, most of which are amateurs, there are bound to be a few comedic ramblings. Here are just a few excerpts of one-sided cell phone conversations overheard during the break.
"So this guy calls me all the way down, and I'm firing the whole way, and he shows me pocket threes...I mean they were good but that's not the point."
"I've been letting this guy bully me all day...just waiting...waiting for him to get out of line when I had a hand, sure as sh*t I pick up kings and stack off against him and he has aces."
"Just let me tell you this one more hand...why not?....but it's so sick!...no no! this one isn't a bad beat story..."
"I've got like 30K right now...but I'm telling you that these players are so bad I'll lay you even money I'm chip leader by dinner break."

Re: WSOP News
We've Got Controversy
An extended row just took place on Orange #6 regarding an all-in, and it led to another in a series of curious floor rulings that have taken place. It seems that, with some cards on board, Player 1 bet 10,000. Player 2 then announced that he was all in. Player 1 asked the dealer how much the raise back to him was, and the dealer responded by pulling Player 2's chips into the middle without counting them down.
Player 2 then tabled his hand, and Player 1 tabled his in response without making any declaration as to whether he had called. Player 1's pocket pair was smaller then Player 2's pocket pair. The dealer burned and turned the river. Player 1 did not hit and lost the hand.
As the dealer counted down the stacks, it turned out that Player 2's raise back to Player 1 was 775 chips. When the dealer tried to collect that amount from Player 1, Player 1 protested that he had never called the raise.
A floor supervisor was summoned to the table, who ruled against Player 1. His decision was that, because Player 1 tabled his hand, it should be assumed that he intended to call. A second floor supervisor was summoned to the table, who made the same ruling. Player 1 protested that the dealer never informed him how much Player 2 had. The second floor's response was that it was Player 1's responsibility to find out that information before tabling his hand.
The commotion went on for at least five minutes, all over 775 chips.

Re: WSOP News
Dammit - no more "Strong Wang" jokes will be made in the live reporting
Strong Wang Eliminated
A player in early position raises to 2,000 and Strong Wang reraises all in to 6,500 in the cutoff. Richard Wyrick calls in the big blind and EP raises again, all in, for 20,300. Wyrick calls.
Wyrick: 9s 9c
EP: Qh Qd
Wang: As Qc
Board: Qs Ks 2d 10d 2s
Richard Wyrick has 38,000 left, and Strong Wang has left the building.

Re: WSOP News
Here's the first update I've read on Hellmuth. And I've been following Pokernews's updates pretty closely.
Hellmuth Still Hungry for Chips
Phil Hellmuth dragged a nice pot to start play back from the dinner break. With the board showing {6-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {K-Spades}, Hellmuth bet 4,500 and was called by Matt Vengrin. The river brought the {9-Hearts} and an 8,000-chip bet from Hellmuth. Vengrin called again, and then mucked when Hellmuth showed him {K-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} for trip kings.
Hellmuth is now just shy of 200,000. Vengrin has slipped to 31,000.

Power Poker
Check out this line-up . . .
Over in the Red section, Chuck Norris is sitting at Table #1. Our understanding is that Chuck Norris doesn't dodge bullets. Bullets dodge Chuck Norris.
Nearby at Table #13 is Steve Austin. When he pushes all in, we expect he'll have the stone cold nuts.
And just in case anything breaks out, UFC announcer Bruce Buffer is close by at Table #25.

Re: WSOP News
This Post is Brought to You By the Letter "F"
"Floor on Table 9!"
A floorperson duly arrived and Eric Morris said, "So the question is, are you allowed to drop the F-bomb so long as it's not directed toward someone?"
Warily, the floor said, "Uh...yes."
Morris said, "Yes! $500!"
And that's when Carmel Petresco said, "Wait! So I can say f***?"
"So long as it's not toward someone, yes," was the reply.
Carmel looked completely shocked; her jaw dropped.
And then she said, "F***!!!"
The entire table started laughing as Carmel reached in her purse and pulled out $500. She tossed it toward Eric and he said, "Hey, you gotta give it to me nicely!"
Carmel picked up the bills, licked her finger, and counted out each one as she handed it over to Morris, with the table laughing the whole way.

Re: WSOP News
One Ow-Ow-Ow-Outer
We came on this one with the flop showing {8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and about 30,000 already in the pot.
The turn brought the {4-Diamonds}. Mohamad Kowssarie's opponent checked, he bet 15,000, and his opponent called.
The river was the {9-Diamonds}. Kowssarie's opponent again checked, and this time Kowssarie bet 60,000, enough to put his opponent all in. His opponent called instantly with his last 45,000, turning over {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} for the full house.
But Kowssarie had {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. He'd rivered the straight flush.
Kowssarie has knocked out another, and he is now up to 340,000.
