yes online tourneys go for a long time but why? They consist of 200 plus players.

"Sometimes you have to play 85 in small blind" i always play my small blind unless someone raises hard.

However that brings me back to my original post. How does that encourage good poker when you have to play loose and try to win because blinds will eat you, and then have to push all in just to say afloat?

To back up my point. Those sports pick tickets give an extra 500 chips, how many people really give a **** about tipping and how many people do it just to get extra chips. Therefore how many people want to give themselves the best possible start, and who will settle for 1000 when they can get 1500?

Umm are you sure you are thinking of NPL?

Each card gives you 1000 in chips, not 500.

It has nothing to do with tipping. Sportspick is the owner of NPL in SA and VIC so of course they are going to have their name on things.

I haven't joined sportspick, so I've not gotten any extra 500 ever. (des, there was a one week promotion for 1st round of footy tipping, I got a text about it once)

But that's cross-promotion. Just like one league holding their events in their pubs.

From all games I've played against people who have ventured over from other leagues, none of them are strong, and they all play carp cards.

Calling 25 in SB is not playing loose. Heads up, you are probably 2:1 going in, and you would be getting 3:1 for your money. The more betters, the more pot odds. Instacall!!

yeah des that sports pick promotion was a one off week, but many venues are still doing it, so every week we are able to get an extra 500 on top of the 1000 passports.

They shouldn't be.

So, let's assume it's a moot point.

well i'd love to but i dont want to be the one who spoils it for everyone else. It would also defeat the purpose of wanting more chips.
I suggest you have a staff meeting with all your tournament directors and iron out the ones who are still offering extra chips.

I for one think even the extra 500 is a great idea

I'm yet to be convinced that a larger starting stack and longer blind levels will IMPROVE the poker.

It'll just give you more hands, and more chances to catch a bad beat.
