video maybe, but that is a decent sized video, and it was a day I was just sitting in my office. I could understand if it was standard internet, then it might have been internet radio kicking in, but facebook? weird

One thing worth checking is if the plan you are on has social media attached to it, where you can use it for free (because it's already paid for in your monthly fee).

If the answer is yes, then it depends how you are accessing facebook as to where the problem lies - use the app, not the internet browser.

If the answer is no, then it just adds to your data usage whenever you use it. I'd be checking things like notification update frequency and logging out when you aren't using it can't hurt any.
