there's no need to qualify for the side games just rock up on the day. in terms of the cash drama, u can offer cash as prizes as long as u don't pay for a buy in

You can play for cash prizes... but not put up cash to enter. They have to be freerolls.
I'm sure Garth and Dakota will clarify details further for this event.
Ahh... well there you go. Thanks for clearing that up Des.

As a regional operator this is Dakota's initiative, not it is not a part of our budgeted prize pool or any of the other promotions we have in the pipeline.
It is illegal to pay for entry into a tournament or poker game outside of the casino in this state but cash prizes can be offered if no entry fee is charged in any way. Money should not be put on the tables for simply appearance sakes and according to legislature money resting on table can be construed as gambling.

Sounds great Dakota! Is March the qualification period (ie win a tourney at one of the venues participating in March to qualify in the 20 for the main tournament)? Any idea on the venues which will be involved?

Please note this is just asking for input from players and whether they would be interested in it. I have yet to approve this promotion or even the mechanics of it and after I approve it, it needs to be submitted to head office and our prize pool budget is stretched thin enough as it is right now.

at the moment I haven't approached any of the venues yet, as I still need to get the ok from Garth and head office first. this proposal is not definite yet, the tourni is still very tentative at the mo. however I do have th 5 venues already in mind. I still as yet haven't received anything from u guys to try help improve my proposal.

Sounds good enough as it is, mate.
Besides, like you and Garth said, this hasn't even been approved yet, bit hard to suggest improvements if we haven't had the chance to experience it. Trial and error, that sort of thing.

Re: 24D $1000 Freeroll and $50 sit&gos
some feedback:
If you only ran it at only 4 venues, wouldn't that drag players away from other venues and their managers wouldn't be happy with this arrangement? Couldn't you make it all "winners from NE venues" in March make it to the tourney, although this could end up with too many players. You could lessen the qualification period to 1 week.
just a few ideas. Hope you can get it off the ground
