This. I either flat his 3-bet pre, or shove it pre. OOP it left you in a tough spot because you still have no pair. If you had position it might be different, but i hate playing big pots in this spot with AK.

would you rather be acting first on the flop macca?

Hell NO. But if i do, i want a smaller pot that i dont feel committed to.

So i either want a smaller pot that i have to play OOP, or i get it in pre.

WOOPS,

Thanks bacon. Hmmm, it prob depends on history with the villain as to whether i check back, or c-bet the flop. but his flop call does look like a little pocket-pair to me, so i prob shove the turn as you did.

But i still am a bit iffy about the four bet pre. either shove or flat here i think.

This is why you should just limp in with AK, and if you don't hit anything, you get out.

In a tournament I don't think there is many scenarios where a limp with AK is worthwhile.

You should be opening with this hand all the time.

Now facing a raise or a 3 bet is an entirely different situation.

bah. Fold equity my friend, fold equity.

AK is a monster hand - you should use it like a club to beat others into submission :D

Then reevaluate when they insist on playing back at you ;-)
