He wants the chips he pays his monies !!

some nights go to a game pays up one card to start like everyone

then test my game by playing without the " buy in " of the

other card , but frequently need the other card to get me thru

[read be competative with ] all the other large chip stacks after

the break

Give the other guy an advantage help fill his card if you wish

generosity makes for a friendly game.

I find dehydration is part of my game/plan.

I usually fill one card only since I'm not really a drinker, but there's usually 1 or 2 kind people who will fill up my other card knowing I can't. After they have filled theirs of course.

The way I see it is that someone else stamping my card for me doesn't stop me from drinking.. I either wouldn't get the card or would get it later anyway.

Often it's handy because if you rock up near the start, you have under an hour to get both done.

I've stamped up from someone else before, and then bought more drinks later. The venue loses null.

Well yes.. if someone doesn't want to spend any money but still get the stamps because they're being deliberately tight, then sure they can get stuffed. I'm still quite happy to help friends get their card done when I know I'm going to be having another couple of beers. Seems like a waste to me when the offer is on.

I can see both sides of the coin with this one but that's my opinion.
Will dance for your chips!

I absolutely agree with Andre. I have no problem with stamping friends cards if mine are already done AND I am still buying myself a drink.

Garth makes a very real point though, however, I have been getting to a few venues late and start drinking quickly to card up (particularly since my game has been totally off since the State Finals)

Is the NPL going to subsidise my AA meetings I am going to need soon?

I really think a player should be able to pay the bar $10/$15 to get a stamp card done and supply a drink card to use like a tab. It wouldn't cost much to have a drink card printed. I would get both my cards done straight away, and drink slower. The pub wouldn't lose out, if anything they would save money on players not using all their drink tab.

What does everyone think?

That's a great point Gail, some venues already let you do this and are generally considerate people who understand where we're all coming from. They see the sense in what you just suggested, and are happy to oblige.

Others could be better :P
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!
