WELL DONE PARAFIELD FLYING CLUB
Obviously Karl and Liz (our waitress for the nite wearing a lovely black number) need to be congratulated for approching their club and convincing them to put on a great venue.
The guys behind the bar (I assume were committee members) whose names I forgot to get were open to any suggestions to make the venue even more attractive.
Hence, they are now going to stamp us up for having a snag or steak sandwich from their BBQ. So, I'll be making sure I get there earlier for a feed before the game. Unfortunately I was running a little bit late as I thought it was a 7.30 start and missed out on the BBQ.
Okay back to the opening nite.
I'm sure Dakoda was more than happy to see another 3 guys (who will remain nameless) turn up a little bit later than me as it gave us a total of 60 runners. Pretty good numbers for a first opening so don't let the Fly Boys or Dakoda down and keep coming.
Along with my $1,000 in chips I was given my $1.00 bounty card which was a great, and I really mean a great idea. I actually knocked out 4 other guys and only had give up mine when I went "ALLIN" on the final table.
At the end of the nite I had an extra $4.00 but some of the guys had a stack of them along with their chip stack. The good thing was you only forfieted your $1.00 bounty and kept the rest to spend over the bar.
Fotti, took out the final table and ended up with a bottle of Scoth Whisky. Unfortunately, he doesn't drink but he had a few mates who were willing to take it off his hands, LOL.
The club rooms were a little rustic and could probably take a few more tables at a pinch. The out door area for smokers or drinkers during the breaks were great, especially on a summers nite.
Overall it was a great nite and you definately couldn't complain about the costs, the service and the willingness to make it a better venue.
Just take a look at Karls newest link where they have already reduced the costs of the mixed cans etc (they only have cans not on tap or spirit measures) and included the BBQ into their stamping system.
And what about the First Prize of a flight over the area in a small plane. Shit if I happen to win I hope the pilots a big bloke to act as a counter balance.................LOL. Maybe we could just taxi around the air port, LOL
Cheers again guys, well done, regards Bob B
