I know nothing about stuff like this, so any help is appreciated. The "film my desktop" idea seems best.

UltraVNC is another fantastic program for doing this, only a small download and free

Used to use it when I worked on a retail help desk, works a treat

i think the recording is the best way to go.

so we need to find a program that records. then we can use http://www.megaupload.com or similar to share with others.

VNC/RDP type programs would be ok for a realtime solution - more useful in giving remote assistance, and I believe that a desktop recording solution was deemed more appropriate (benny the cunt said something about realtime being a distraction, which seems accurate enough). With regards to that, the only product I have experience is would be FRAPS, which I used to use to make videogame-related videos (I am a gigantic nerd shutup). There are other free alternatives however, such as Camstudio. The issue I think you may encounter is one of file size - often you cannot compress on the fly with these programs and as such are likely to produce a very large files (assuming the play session is in the order of hours) which would make filesharing sites not a good option for sharing, so if you wanted input from those that could not be reached by way of DVD/external HDDs, that might be an issue you'd encounter.

As long as the remote desktop software doesn't take over the PC and merely "looks" at the desktop.

Also - vnc/rdp are notorious for bandwidth eating - you wouldn't want software (remote or otherwise) sucking up your bandwidth and timing you out of a poker site.
