The only southern venue that I've played is the Seaford, and that seemed like a top notch place to play poker.

Funny you should say that benny the cunt. Men and I include myself do actually get hot flushes on a regular basis hence the actual name.

I didn't really understand how inconvenient they are (hot flushes that is not the missus ). But I can assure you "male menopause" is alive and kicking and I hope you don't get it when you reach maturity.

I'm technically down south, I live at Hallett Cove. I'm just a nomad when it comes to work so everyone who knows me has met me in the CBD or NW/NE.

Seaford is a great game. Definately a goer if you have Sunday available. Christies on Saturday is good also but I would suggest Seaford as my pick.

gday boys and girls I am back from my soujourn well rested, unfortunatly only 1 good beach day while we were there but thats the risk hey.

Thanks for the reply,s i was intending to play seaford on the sunday but my programme got changed so i ended up playing christies again on saturday night

well ive got to tell you i wont play there again.

It would be an understatement to say i was very disapointed in the venue and the behaviour of many players.

I arived approx 8.30 for the 9 oclock kick off, registered and found we would be playing about 40 strong. About 1/2 of what they got last saturday i was told.

the first thing i encountered was the inconsistant stamping from the staff behind the bar.

1 first purchase saw me get 3 stamps for a miller and a bottle of water
2 purhcase for a miller and a bottle of water only got me 2 stamps then
third time round for 1 milller got me 1 stamp

so i was utterly confused and still not stamped up.

the table i was seated was good fun early, only 1 calling station and 1 very good player but unforturnaly had a real mouth on him.

while on this table i heard lots and lots of swearing, and not once heard a warning, now personally i dont care but ive seen the job other td's have done trying to stamp this out and so i was suprised that at least a dozen instances of this occured in the first hour.

I was also privi to heaps of muck checking and rabbiting so that was a little disapointing but the worst of all was the slow rolling

there was one instance where a guy went all in and was over called by two runners the second runner also went all in and was called by the dealer. both the dealer and the second runner showed their cards but the first all in guy would not show his cards and instead sat there saying "well im in front", turn "yep still in front ", etc all the while not showing. jesus that pissed me off. especially when his pocket jacks held up vs pocket 10's and AK

but by far the worst things to happen during the night was the personal abuse i was on 2 tables for the night and witnessed 3 seperate instances of realy bad personal abuse between players

the first 2 was from our slow roller 2 a young lass who was a nice girl but did come across a bit of a know it all, and copped a mouth full from this bloke on 2 seperate ocasions. The first she left in tears only to return 5 minutes later. The second she asked the TD to be moved but was refused, which i thought was a bit harsh.

the 3rd instance was from a drunkan idiot who used every expletive you can think of at the top of his voice to berate a young lady and another bloke who were considering calling him. I heard the lass tell the TD that she had been verbaly abused and was told it would be better if she put up with it, as it would be too much hassle to do anything ( there was a bouncer present so i dont see why)

Overall the standard of poker was quite good, very few calling stations and a lot more heads up play than i am used to at the waikerie club.
lead out bets got respect as did re-raises so it was a good place to play in that respect.

but it was the generall feel of the place and the way that the players treated each other as they didnt fear the TD that realy concerned me

I will find i very hard to make my self play there again. next time the seaford it is
