thats a really good idea scott

i.e late on day 1, we could have had run some 2 or 3 table omaha SNGs for people knocked out, where it was 50 bucks for the winner or something

You city slickers keep your hands off our Deep Stack event, you get 5 state finals and access to heaps of big player events like Parafield Gradens/Roulettes/Para Hills and Pooraka FC.

Deep Stack must be kept at least 2 to 3 hours from the city centre to make it worth while for the venue, netherless Berri will oboviously improve the next event, a wealth of knowelege would have been gained from the weekends event.

Remember to put your positive suggestion for making it better in the thread simmsy started. ie. pre registration fri night would help.

I totally agree with you DOG. They started it and made it a great event and it can only get better. Get some of the other accomodation people who made money from us being there to put up some extra cash, prizes, or incentives like a 2 day stay etc.

Everyone in the state gets 5 state finals silly! You're correct about the metro areas having some larger fields etc but you guys get regional leaderboards for cash instead of that - and the metro areas don't.

Having the deepstack anywhere but Berri could only be considered rude after they did such a good job first time, so I will completely agree with your bias.

One major event per season (other than state finals) would be brilliant if it's possible to do it that way....

eg: Season 1 for the year could be the deepstack, season 2 could be the teams event, seasons 3,4 and 5 could be (ignore the order of them) maybe SkyCity Main Event and Aussie Millions qualifier and something else not dreamed up yet.. I'd be keen to see a shootout event happening.
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

Easy call there Pete we city guys can get to choose a number of venues with big or small fields within 20 minutes from our homes. But I think the Berri Complex put their hand up and took a chance and I'm sure it has merit in being an Annual venue.

And as I said b4 those who didn't or couldn't go will hear how good it was and next time make arrangements so they can. Take a week or a 4 day weekend off and enjoy what the Riverland has to offer. I didn't get to go and see Banrock Station winery as time didn't allow it.

Nothing wrong with still having an "Annual teams event" as a regular event either. I believe there are a lot of people who can't make the top 5 or the top 50 due to employment or such. But I guess they would actually enjoy playing with friends as a team trying to knock out other teams. :)

Not sure if it's necessary to hold it at the Palais but then again they put their hand up too. I can't remember if we has flight cards to chip up but I'm pretty sure we could win something if we did!!!! Obviously we need to have a chance at knocking off some of those damned cocky TD's this time and take them out. Tongue in cheek boys and girls

As for the Sky City. I'd like to see an "ALL NPL PLAYERS ONLY EVENT" played there with a big stack and prizes related to seats in say something like the Aussie Millions or something similar held at Sky City. ;)

Marry them all with our 5 State Finals and we have a great league of events. :D

I seen these 4 women from another operator who qualified for the Aussie Millions on Channel 9's Current Affairs the other night.

Notice how another league are good enough to get a story, yet NPL aren't ;)

Gotta agree with you here Gun.. (and I am from the Sowf)
I would love to think that every year the Berri Hotel has the Deepstack tournament.

Why can't we make it a different sort of tournament if there are other weekends to be run by NPL?

I have not heard a single negative report about the way Berri was run and it seems the players themselves were treated very well by the locals.

So it appears to not be broken
Don't try to fix it.. :)
