i think the idea of a SNG for all venue winners is great, much better than offering a weekly cash prize.
at the very least, the venue is giving its players another reason to turn up and spend money on a night that they wouldnt otherwise be there.
Great first prize, SFA for second ...?

Ummmm, something more than either you or I got? HA!
I got aces in my first game down at Jolly Miller, and then proceeded to get smashed on every half decent and decent hand I got dealt from then on.
Someone (Ronie?) called my 3xBB raise with 34 and when the board came down 446, I really did think my QQ was good. And that was the end of me.
But back on topic - mr_nice_guy if you're after a prize when you play, surely the onus is on you to check first? But I do remember when the metro (coles) venues switched to the vegas trip - they were keen to promote that, but didn't really push the fact that they had dropped the cash 1st prize that they had been offering the week before.

But other than during this promotion, is there ANY venue that doesn't offer a prize above and beyond the NPL prize pack? I would say that every venue gives at least a venue voucher for 1st.
I would like to think I could turn up to any venue, and be rewarded with something (even if it was a free drink) for winning the night (which doesn't happen often).

Can I just jump in now guys and say that in SA you are very lucky players.
No other state has the dedication or passion that many venue managers have shown in supplying prizes to players.
It is not a prerequisite that venue's provide players with prizes, in fact approx 40% of venues in other state do not provide venues prizes.
I would suggest thanking venues for either providing prizes or doing the great job they do in attracting players of offering the promotions they do.
The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.
