so waikerie must just about be due to host a FTT event toddy? i know numbers might be reduced a little due to travel, but a 6:30 start on a saturday night with a 10k start stack would bring the players down.
looking forward to tomorrrow though. waikerie looking for back-to-back. macca looking for another regional final table.

Yes, Waikerie is due. However i did offer it to Shirley just this last regional gone. She had a booking already on the Sat and we couldn't clash with the Sunday game so it went to the Sporting Club.
Its no longer a regional, its a FTT Tourny. I can't wait till we do a shootout format, that will de fun.
I was only given short notice of what weekend it had to be on so it was hard to find a venue that didn't already have bookings for Valentines Day and again didn't want to clash with the Sunday game.
My money is on the home team FTW and not because i like to be biased in this case, but because i hand selected them to defeat you guys. I'm just spewing that Dunny's not in the side.
I let him pick his "own" team as he is the regional champ, an honour that each champ will have from now on in these teams comps.
The team is "Dunnys All-Stars"

Stop being diplomatic Macca, its been to Barmera, Berri, Renmark Club, Renmark Sporting Club, which doubles up this weekend, So Waikerie must host the next 2 regional events to be fair and then Cobby the next one, and I couldn't give a rats ar$e if the up river players think its too far to travel, there are very few Renmark players travel beyond Berri to support other regional venues unlike Demo and Fred, who play almost every venue.

What surprises me Gundog, is that you have stopped travelling to play with us, yet you regularly will drive all the way to the city to play.
Do you have a gripe with us?

No
Just a time out and play home each week and an occasional game here and there, if business takes me to Adelaide I will play there if possible.

Re: ATTN Riverlanders.
Just Got back from the Riverland FTT played today at the Renmark Sporting Club
Too be honest im stuffed its been a long day.
Play started with the regular Sunday Game but with a teams event interwoven, Waikerie were looking to defend its title but unfortunatly the team we took underperformed wofeully and ended up 6 of 8
Congratulations to Renmark club and captain Demo for winning the trophy.
The FTT event atracted around 80 runners (im sure todd will give us the actual number)
Waikerie ended up with 2 players on the final table with Me and Macca
as well as Cloe fridd making top 15.
I ended up the money Bubble (bugger) in 6th place, when looking to double up my short stack i ran my [ad 9d] into [as jc]
Macca went on to clean up the Event as well as the $500 1st place money.
Congratulations Macca.
Not too take anything away from Maccas win, he absolutely owened the final table from the moment it started, as a short stack i couldnt do much but wait for my spot , while macca controlled the pots and picked up the blinds excellently, wielding the big stack with ease.
The final 4 was some of the tamest poker i have seen, and most C bets gave mack the pot ( i even saw Macca C bet with queen high on a Jack high board and get a bird to lay down Big Slick),
But as I said this in no way takes away from Macca, he was clearly the best player on the day and confirms he is the most consistant performer in the riverland region.
Well done and a huge thanks to todd and co on another excellent event.

If that doesn't prove that Matty is the better McDonald when it comes to playing poker, I don't know what will. Well done matty, always amazed with the consistency you smash your region. Seriously, you own that shit.
Way to go buddy.

Re: ATTN Riverlanders.
cheers AK and benny the cunt. for some reason i always do ok at regional events (8th, 3rd, 1st in my only three) but my venue form is awful. sitting about 20th.
had a great run though and picked up some great hands exactly when i needed them.
case in point.
blinds 1500/3000, i have a slightly bigger than average stack of about 30k. one limper and i look down at [9h][9c] and raise to 9k.
The big blind goes all in for 7k and the limper calls. The limper is a really aggressive player, pretty tight, but will often shove if he gets any piece of the board.
Flop [9s][2s][5d]
woo hoo. i check to mr aggressive, who has 20k behind him, he counts some chips and checks. bit worried about spades, but figured i would take my chances against a draw.
turn [2h]
even bigger woo hoo.
i check again and mr aggressive jams his entire stack which was 20k.
i insta-call and he shows [5c][ad]. yesss. i ship about a 60k pot on the hand before the final table and enter the final table chip leader with 76k.
my big stack enables me to pick up a lot of blinds and im never really challenged. bad luck to krunchie who bubbled - if he had only got his first double up then im certain we would have been playing heads up.
well done to toddy and nicole who ran an awesome event (as usual), and well done to demo and the renny club team who won the teams event.
