How are tourney payout structures formulated.
Is there a set rule, particularly the final table.
The reason I ask is this
The Aussie millions pays 2mill for first and 100k for 9th - thats a difference of 20 x
The Wsop main event final table paid aprox 9mill for first and 1mill for 9th thats only a difference of 9x
why the difference, is every tourney worked out differently.

Re: Tourney Payout structures
Will post later. Re structures.
Most of the time it works out to be a sliding percent for 1st and down. However you also get tiers.
So with t9 you might get paid 15k in a 700 runner tourney, but in a 7000 runner tourney you might have t9 paying 100k.
So the left over money then gets spread a lot more into the final table.
E.g 20% of a 7mil prize pool
vs 16.5% of a 70mil prize pool.
