Cheers Scott - I was pretty happy with 8th in the end. Blinds 16k/32k, went all in from cut off for 59k with A2s, button was nice enough to isolate me with A10o. Flopped a 2, river comes a 10.

Yep. I'll be there :D

there was about 25 left when i got knocked out

i had 25K left, and the blinds were 3K-6K.

i was sitting in late position, UTG raises to 15K, and gets 3 callers! my turn to act, and i look down at KQ of spades.

i reckon i am priced in, and none of the others looked particularly strong, as they had just flat called, so i push in for 25K - and everyone still calls! massive pot, about 110K i reckon.

flop comes KXX, and my initial excitement is quelled when i realise they are all diamonds. well UTG goes all in, and gets a quick call. he turns over KJ, and the other player turns over AJ, but the J is a diamond.

and sure enough, the turn was a diamond (and the river!) and that was me out.

pete, i know this is a poker story, and i know you said me and aaron aren't allowed to post these, but i just wanted to see whether rcon was on my table

Don't recall seeing that one, maybe next time.

Don't you love the roller coasters tho? The hand I went out one game me exactly the same thing. Flopped the winning hand, rivered the losing one ;-)

Well if everyone is sharing their stories from Berri, here's how I got out at the deepstack :D

I haven't seen a playable hand in years and look down at Q9 offsuit. UTG (chip leader on the table) calls and I min raise (WHAT AM I DOING SUCH A BAD PLAY) to 12k (blinds 3/6k). Folded around to BB, who calls ("well I'm already halfway there") as does UTG.

Flop: 9 3 6 rainbow. UTG throws out 50k, which was at the time, a HUGE bet. I smelt overbet, and knew that I was ahead. After considering what he has (I figure high cards, no way he hit that flop), I raise all in for around 85k. BB folds and UTG calls, then tables 78 for the up and down.

He rivers it.

I... still liked my play, kinda. I knew that on the flop I was ahead, but to be honest, I didn't consider him having 78 (or 45, which would've given him the up and down) and if I had, I would've regretfully laid it down - too many outs. A long day of poker combined with me being tired led to me hitting the rail around 50th. The only thing I'm disappointed in is me not putting my chips in with the BEST possible hand (trips, a straight, etc).

Apart from THAT, I loved my poker play all day. I made some really good bets, raises and overall general poker play, to outlast all my friends and put in a good performance.

Is that good enough Pete? :D

Yeah not a real bad play Aaron. Maybe raising to 18 if you were going to play a hand like Q9 would have got the others to lay it down and you could pick up a cheap one.

But i guess the majority of losing hands have woulda-clouda-shoulda stories attached to them.

Perhaps I should amend my post to read "lift home with Xtal, Russ and I"?

No - then you'd be incorrect :)

"Xtal, Russ and me" is correct.

Myself, or me - are both correct.

But not "I"
