AFL 2011
The SANFL don't want to sell them, but the afl is VERY keen on the crows and power owning themselves.
Riskers gamble, experts calculate.

I heard John Olsen on the radio the other day, and he said that it would be remiss of the SANFL to consider selling the licences before they moved to AO in 2015, because of the unknown true value until then.
I'm not perfect. I'm what perfect aspires to become

Re: AFL 2011
makes sense from a business perspective, both licences would be at an all time low in terms of value right at the moment

Re: AFL 2011
Yes the AFL is keen to see the licences go to the clubs, media comentators speculated that the Port considering their debts and likelyhood of garnering enough members within SA tobe viable, Port could buy their licence for $4 million, the amount paid tojoin the AFL. The Crows on the other hand were valued at $65 million.
These same people suggested if the SANFL was not inclined to talk seriously with the clubs, the AFL could revoke the SANFL licences and all they would be left with would be the brand names Adelaide Crows and Port Adelaide Power, the 2 new licences holder would need to build new clubs from the ground up.
Things would get very interesting if things evolved that way.

42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Re: AFL 2011
that would be interesting - i can see the AFL using that as a threat, because there is no way they would ever give up 2 teams in SA
