Ummm.....wow!!

Nice edit BTW. Am guessing the "well respected player" won't be referred to by this name from now on???!

Yes they got lucky, BUT

If they are putting you on AQ+, QQ+ (with no club) then its a pretty decent flop to float in order to raise turn or river.

How quickly did you call on the river? What hands do you beat after he/she flat calls two streets and then value raises river? You lose to all sets, AK, QT/QJ/JT, hell even 89 could be in their range, along with raggy flopped flushes. pretty much all you beat is AQ/AJ with the A of clubs that turns their hand into a bluff. I think i can a fold on the river, but i also think im check/calling the river instead of betting it weakly.

Basically all of the above is river/showdown related which is kind of my point (hand actually progressing to this stage)...I can't see any play at this stage being correct as I'm obviously smashed/all his range beats me and check/fold is probably correct. (for the record I tanked/almost timed out called the river after typing "nice value" in the chat box)

Wasn't really entering into a discussion (we have another thread for that) just figured it was a horrible beat (and posted as such).

if you thought you were beat, why call? pretty bed river call imo. posting only 77 versus your KK on the river is pointless. you need to post a range.

I had to find out for sure.

maccatak11 wrote:pretty bad river call imo..

Yeah i do this quite regularly .... more often in at higher stakes and usually closer to the bubble, something i need to work on......

Yeah, i can see now how this is clearly not a bad beat as i was only 95% to win on the turn...if you say it out loud it makes perfect sense, "he rivered a two outer" ...... clearly not a bad beat.
