HI all,
a new poker venue starts monday 28th jan at the Parafield Flying Club, rego is at 6pm for a 7pm start. It is actually in the parafield airport on Lockheed Lane, (parralell to Kings Road)
Like a lot of other people i like playing at pooraka, its a great venue the staff are great and actually show you some respect unlike some of the pubs out there, Thats why i have organised this venue...

at this stage on the first night there will be a bottle of scotch for first place! and i will try to work out more prizes as we go.

I may look at doing a BBQ before the game or maybe even pizza,
any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated, as i am organising this for us poker players....

feel free to e-mail me if you have any feedback or questions

svm_sa@bigpond.com.au

thanks
and hope to see you all there...

Karl.

Hey Karl

Nice to see you got the event going, ill hopefully ge to come down and see how it goes. Maybe ill convince a few to come to checkmates with Dakota and I for the late monday game!

With no Mawsons and no Wisdor and Checkers not starting until 11:00 it should be a big hit. (i've heard the drinks are great value too, so thats even better)

hi all,

An update on next mondays first game at this venue,
we will have a BBQ running, $2 for a snag $4 for steak at this stage.
( sorry but am unable to stamp up cards for the bbq )

I have spoken to the powers that be and am waiting for a definate response, but at this stage i have been given the go ahead to run it as a Bounty game. However the bounty is on everyones head!!

I will be donating $1 for every player registered on the night and everyone will be given a bounty card at the start of the night,

as you call all in you put your bounty card (only yours) in the pot, and whoever wins the pot wins the bounty card. after you are knocked out any bounty cards you have collected along the way can be redeemed at the bar for $1 each. so the more players you knock out the more you can collect...

Thanks to all who came monday night, it was an awsome turnout,
i hope everyone enjoyed themselves and will return.

if anyone has any feedback, (good or bad) i would love to hear it, as i want to make this a successful venue, but if people dont tell me what they want i cant help...

some changes have already been put into place,
- the bbq will now earn you stamps
- cans of coke will now be $2.50 instead of $2
- jim beam cans will now be $5 instead of $6

i am trying to get it as close to $2.50 per stamp ($10 per card) as possible accross the board so it is fair on everyone. does this sound right to everyone, (and no smart arse comments that you want it all for free please)

prizes for next monday the 4th Feb 08

1st - bottle of scotch
2nd - $10 venue voucher
3rd thru 9th $5 venue voucher

the first prize for monday the 11th feb will be

what is called a TIF, (training introduction flight)
basically a joy flight around salisbury in a light aircraft, with the chance to actually fly the plane if you have enough guts...lol
this is valued at over $120, and was kindly donated by one of the members of the Parafield Flying Club.

And on a final note the $1 bounty will stand on everyones head again this next week, but i may look at increasing that for following weeks,

thanks again to everyone that came and supported the club..

karl.

When I heard about the flight last night I thought it was a great idea. Went down on Monday and thought it was a great venue, so check it out.
