Okay guys and girls,
This week at Para Hills Community Club I will be trialing a new Card redemption system. Just to be be clear it will be for Para Hills for 1 game only, at this point in time. The card system works exactly as it does now, the only difference is if u have a second completed card at the first break, it will be worth $2000. U will only get 2k for the 2nd card if and only if u use the 1st card first.
If u still have 2 cards at the break, 1 card will be worth $1000 and 1 will be worth $2000.
Expansion of this system will be based on how popular and effective this game works.

cheers

Are you saying you must have both cards still unused at the 1st break as this implies

If u still have 2 cards at the break, 1 card will be worth $1000 and 1 will be worth $2000.

or that you can get 2k for your second card regardless of if you've already used your 1st card as this implies?

U will only get 2k for the 2nd card if and only if u use the 1st card first.

And this definitely has me interested in coming out there.

And one more thing - shouldn't this be in the "Your NPL" forum ;)

my understanding of it is your second card is worth 2K instead of 1K, with your first card 1K as usual.

i.e gives more of an incentive for your second card to be stamped up.

Its a true Add-on system

When playing in a real rebuy tournament. You have the rebuy period where you can rebuy for the same buy in as many times as the tournament permits.

When the rebuy period finishes (usually the first break) the add of period begins (this period is usually the break) All players must add on before the tournament recommences.

In this fashion an add-on usually gives you 150% or even 200% of the rebuy or starting stack, we hope to do the same.

If you use both your cards before the break you only get 1000 each as they are treated as rebuys, if you use one card after the break you will get 2000 as it is an add-on. Only one card will be treated as an add-on (just incase a player has more than one card at the break)

Regards

And there is no problem in getting your 2nd card stamped up during the first break, and then redeeming it when you come back in from the break? Or does it have to be stamped up before the first break is called?

Topic is venue specific at this stage, so moved to NPL venues.

How will you differentiate the cards?

Or are you saying that a card at the break is worth $2000, and any extra is $1000

Say I only stamp up the one card, and I don't use it before the break. Is that card worth $2000 at the break? Cos that is meaning I'll have the same chips for half the cost? Or $1000 more for the same cost.

It's been a while since I played in my backyard; might come if I'm not training.

if u only use 1 card then it is only worth $1000, regardless of whether u still have that 1st card at the break. Only the 2nd card will be worth $2000 at the break. We will be able to differentiate between the 1st and 2nd card, so that no-one does a swifty on us.
And yes u can still stamp up the 2nd card during the break.

So basically one card is a REBUY card and one card is an ADDON card. The first card you use is the REBUY card, and the second is an ADDON card, unless it's used before the break, then it's a REBUY card also.

i like this idea. it means that people might play a little tighter before the first break, to avoid the "oh well, i still have 2 cards left, ill call" mentality.
