It has just come to my attention that a staff member was threatened on this forum via PM.
From this season onwards we are implementing a strict policy where all players will be punished for insulting/threatening any players or staff. Most of you are aware of these enforcements in place especially in respect to players calling other players certain names.
I have tried to contact this player via PM and Head Office SMS as I do not have their number. Several players have told this player that I am trying to contact them and they have expressed their remorse but has decided not to contact me to discuss this.
I would now like to add that no matter the medium if you insult or threaten any players or staff either at a tournament or through the forum or text or any other medium then you will be punished to the full extent of our policies.
This type of behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated anymore, we are here to provide fun, free and fair poker and we are having too many new player's having a negative experience in their first tournaments due to the self beliefs of several players that they are Helmuth and are entitled to express their disdain for these players. No more we will tolerate tapping the glass and although we may be seen as becoming a "nazi" company enforcing these rules we all believe it will create a better competition in the long run.
What has happened to mutual respect and just enjoying the company of friends over a game of poker? I hope we have the backing of the majority of players in this new stance and that you continue to enjoy and support NPL because of these improvements.

Re: The Hard Line
NPL management certainly has my full support in cracking down on players that are verbally and physically aggressive at the tables, on the forum, or in any contact with NPL staff.
I take the game as seriously as the next person, but the truly smart players know that at times, the cards are not kind and bad beats/suck outs will happen. It is not a reason to explode.
By nature, poker players will be competitive people, but everyone wants to enjoy their participation, and I would defend to the fullest our local TD's should anyone go off the rails.
