Website and Software Update for 888PL

Postby Garth Kay » Fri Nov 20, 2009 10:48 am

Over the last 6 months FHG have been working in conjunction with MMG in developing our own software and website.

As of January 2010, 888PL will have it's own website and software to manage tournaments this has a big impact on our operational facilities, our ability to offer up to date support for players, displaying the correct information on the website and offering our players the best, most interactive and functional pub poker website.

These changes will have a momentary and slight impact on players and all players will need to be aware that some of the changes will have a profound change of the player experience in the following areas:

1.) Players will be required to re register with 888PL by completing hard copy rego forms. We will require more compulsory details from players than previously required; we will require mailing addresses, mobile phones, email addresses and DOB. We require this updated information for several reasons; we will need to send prizes to players and we cannot confirm every mailing address when we do this, most of our mass or individual communication will now be in the form of SMS and Email (the bulk of which will be automated) and DOB is required for us to action challenge events in other states.

2.) NPL/888PL member cards are now redundant. All members, upon registration, will be reissued with a new 888PL member card. This card will enable you to play 888PL events anywhere nationally and will not require players to re register if you travel interstate.

3.)As of 2010 all previous player history, data and details will be lost. All players start with a clean slate and will have to rebuild their player history, game stats and any other information all over again. This is not a decision made by FHG but rather a result of business restrictions.

4.) The website will be completely changed; more content, more tutorials, bonuses from 888, promotions, coaches boxes, etc.... To view complete score boards and some additional content you will now be required to log into the website.

5.) The website will be launched in various phases, the first phase will be more content driven but the additional phase will provide added functionality for players as well as more interactive content and downloaded add ons.

6.) Navigation of the website won't be difficult but it will be a "deeper" website than previously experienced. Some players may experience difficulty finding information more than in the past. I doubt this will occur but we will be setting up some live support on messenger for help.

While most of these points above may seem negative, we are just preparing you for a few of the negatives that the positives will far outweigh in 2010; it is just another step in the long journey to provide all of our players state of the art resources, top of the line online experience via 888, website and forum and the best poker experience found anywhere in the country.
