Hi Ladies and Gents,
As many players would be aware this season we have gone through a rather dramatic technological development; with the introduction of a new website and our own back end operating systems.
This development and transition to new systems did not progress as well as planned and as we reach the end of Season 1, in 2010, we have identified several issues that may affect a minority of player's results and thus their Scoreboard placings. Approximately 800 players have been affected by a bug in our new system that duplicates their account, this duplication results in two accounts for this player and with results been distributed to both accounts within the system. The final outcome is that there are 800 players who have had some results distributed to the wrong account and this has affected the overall score board positions of these players.
We have since rectified this issue by cancelling all of the duplicate accounts and ensuring that the results will flow to one account for each player now. We have put safeguards in place now with new systems to ensure this will never occur and Season 2 should proceed with none of the issues faced in Season 1.
Even though we do not expect any major changes on the current Score Boards 888PL has had to introduce some new rules as to qualification for Semi Finals and awarding prizes for score boards:
1.) Score Boards will not be declared final until all 888L Score Boards and Player accounts are deemed correct and rectified by 888Pl management.
2.) All Prize money for the Dream Team and State Score Board will not be issued until Score Boards are declared final.
3.) As of the 30th of March all players in a Top 5 position of all Game Score Boards and the Top 50 on each State Score Board will qualify for their respective State's Semi Final.
4.) After this date if any corrections move players into a qualification position they will also be extended an entry into the Semi Final.
As of Friday 26th March all Duplicated accounts have been identified; sometime over the next 24 hours all results will be wiped and then re entered into our database. This will be done to re calculate individual game results and allows 888PL to attribute ALL game results to correct accounts. The website will be down for a period of up to 6 hours while this process is conducted.
If you have any questions or seek resolution on Semi Final qualification please send an email with your name, 888PL member ID and your query to info@888pl.com.au.
Thank you for your time and I apologise sincerely to all players who have been affected by these software glitches.

UPDATE:
Hi Guys,
Just updating you on where we are at.
I have worked all day and am running on three hours sleep and on the fumes of very potent tequilla and V cans! The later is a joke.
I have overhauled completely all of our results and gone through the database with a fine tooth comb. I have reports from 888 on every single tournament conducted this season.
So I have discovered that we were missing 282 results or games from our systems after the re boot last night. I have since found all of those games and linked them to our games in the DB (Once again!). I am now just finishing up the import file for these 282 games and that means finishing off 16,000 lines of incomplete data (This should take another 2 to three hours).
I will then import these results (some will go live almost immediately, barring any issues with the import process) the score boards and system will re synch and be re calculated tonight, then tomorrow morning all games and results will be registered in the system.
NOW the only other concern I then have is to ensure that all 888 usernames are linked to the correct accounts and game results are flowing to the correct players.
So that's where I am at with it all. A lot more games going live tonight, and tomorrow morning all HOME GAME results will be correct up until the end of the 26th of March.
