Re: Raffle tickets & filling out passports
As for the prize being advertised before a raffle ticket is sold, how can you guarentee that a prizepool will be generated from them. What if no ticket sold, would the advertised prize still not apply?

Re: Raffle tickets & filling out passports
Can we try and be transparent. I am coming off a ten hour work day already and am struggling to see what your issue is.
Can you please categorically state what the issues are, what you think you are entitled to and what you would like to see in place that is different to the current system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Re: Raffle tickets & filling out passports
Hello Garth & sorry bout the workload.
I have forwarded a text from 4 weeks ago.
The person who won on the night got a carton for winning & 2nd place got $100.
On a side note we must buy a raffle ticket to be entitled to advertised amounts and to
do this both passports must be filled. I'd like to see it made more clear to all, especially new players.

Also I'd like to see your vision of thing being transparent over here.
Another issue is venues. We lost 2 of our biggest ones in the space of a few weeks and the one I usually attend (NNRsl) we were notified on 4:11pm on the same day. Less than 4 hours notice & a similar situation happened with the Waggon & horses Hotel. There seems to be a
shortfall in notifying the people it affects most. Cheers.

Can you clarify that 2nd got $100 for finishing 2nd, or did he get his name drawn out on a Raffle ticket??
What?, poker without the river??, you've just made my dreams come true!!!

That is word for word.
If I was the guy who won this event, and had this text message on my phone, I definitely would have shown it to the TD and I am sure would have got paid the promised $100.....

I would assume that they only found out (finally) at late notice
Do you honestly think they would find out and then just sit on their hands - THEN tell you all?

Re: Raffle tickets & filling out passports
Ok I'll try to make this simple because it is confusing so bare with me,
First prize at my venue is advertised as $100 for the winner by text.
I turn up, spend $24 filling out my poker passports.
Make it to final table & win. 2nd prize is a carton of beer.
I'm told that I didn't buy a raffle ticket so I'm not entitled to 1st prize
My first game in 12 months so he has no clue to what is going on. (true)
so $100 for 2nd. When txt states winner gets $100.
Just going back to earlier posts, I compared last season to this season.
All raffle money went back to players on the night. Now it seems a revenue for something else.
If I bought a raffle ticket, and I get my name drawn out then I get $1 for every $5 ticket sold.
ie 5 tickets sell, I get my $5 back. So 80% of the raffle money is going to other purposes.
Dont get confused either, $100 for first prize is only the one off.
