As for people being rewarded for stamping up, I could stamp up 1 cards, be 1 stamp short of the 2nd card being filled and and win the even't only to win the same as not fillng out any passports at all. There is no reward in that scenario.
Another view I'll put forth....
I'd like to see 888pl grow, see more numbers at venues even,
Passports filled $24
raffle ticket(s) $5-15
Minimum cost $29 for a chance at 1st place prize which is varying at the moment but will revert to $100 to 1st.
I'm sure people would choose to invest $29 online in comps that offer far more prizemoney in comparison

My venue is $75 for 1st $50 2nd & $25 for 3rd, as for the cost of stamps you will have to listen to episode 9 of THE RAIL.

Re: Raffle tickets & filling out passports
You are forgetting 1 thing - in my opinion, 888pl live games aren't about playing to win money, they are about entertainment first and foremost.
You are also forgetting the food and drinks you buy at the venue also have value - you get to have a meal and some drinks with mates.
Just to make it clear also, this is the first time i have heard about a raffle prize. i am not sure whether it is standard in Tas, but it seems to be unique. So in SA and Vic, there is no option for us to even enter a raffle at all.
If the prize was generated through the raffle tickets that i didn't pay for, then no.

You say that, but if you went to say, the Brahma, with $500 first prize... stamped up - and then WON, and wasn't told about a raffle, you'd show them the SMS and make them pay you.

Still dancing around the question of the txt.
Would you expect to be playing for the advertised amount?

no i answered this.
bennymacca wrote:So this person wasn't asked whether he wanted to buy a raffle ticket when he registered?
That seems to be the mistake here. He definitely should have been informed, but I doubt there is any legal type issues
I agree it should have been made clearer what the person was playing for, but i also doubt that the person that won had absolutely no idea that there was an optional buyin component to the game, he would have been asked whether he wanted to buy in. please correct me if i am wrong in that assumption

Re: Raffle tickets & filling out passports
It might be worth having a chat with your TD about this, or alternatively, email info@888pl.com.au if you want management to address the issue (they sometimes see stuff on here but they will definitely respond to an email)

Re: Raffle tickets & filling out passports
I do have respect for you opinions & please dont take this personally....
you say that I forget in your opinion that the venues are about entertainment & not money.
Hence the text promoting the mentioned prize money. I'm sure that the text is to encourage ppl to attend the venue. Not mentioning the deception factor of course.
Also about the entertainment, food & ppl.
Some venues dont have meals, some people dont drink & encouraging everybody to fill out passports is good for venues but not for people that have to drive or work the next day.
A back to raffle tickets (sorry david) lets say that I dont buy any for the season, make the state final & place in the cash. Am I still entitled to full amounts even thought nothing mentioned that far along because money from these RFL tckts is going towards the State finals
