usually you cant chat if you are observer, or you have busted from the tourney

sometimes i have been playing and it hasnt let me chat, but usually closing the table and opening it works ok

I think it sucks ass you can't chat online if your not in the tourney.
I enjoyed going in and seeing a friend that I knew was playing online and can't say hello.
They don't want us chatting via MSN, Facebook blah blah blah...
But yet they don't allow us the opportunity to get in contact with those around us that we become friends with.

Ohhh and I know your going to argue and say we had abuse and crap with it, but you know what, the good outweighed the bad..

I pretty sure that if you're not in the same tournament as your friend then 888 doesn't overly care if you want to chat with them on facebook or MSN.

They don't like people colluding while playing in the same game, that's very reasonable.

I don't know if some of you guys realise this, but the chat box on a poker table is not there for having full-blown conversations. If you want to use it for that, that's fine. But having observers use a chat box to talk to their friends while I'm in a tournament can get quite annoying.

If I was playing live and some random person came over and sat at the table and started having a conversation with their friend without being in the game, that would annoy me too. They are very similar situations.

There are better ways to talk to people on the internet than using a 2cm x 1cm box that shows 3 lines of text at a time. And it will certainly annoy others players less if you use them too.
