thanks garth, we really do appreciate the time you spend on here.

We will be moving forward with APL integration at some stage and look to build the forum into our player experiences. I will be looking to create forum promotions and forum only events to drive consistent participation and hopefully grow this forum especially with novice/new players.

two hours still seems like enough time though. especially if its written in a style similar to sites like pokernews, with the footnote "all views are authors only etc". although i guess a lot of your resources are understandably concentrated on the merger at this particular time.

I know im able to write a 600-700 word footy article from notes taken the day before, and edit it and send it off, whilst hungover on a sunday in under an hour. And although thats not national, approximately 3-4 thousand people read that every week.

a weekly wrap up wouldnt even have to be written by staff. maybe something could be written like 'bennymacca's bullet points, or trishans tidbits or whatever for a weekly pay and play card.

And Matt - you're wrong. An hour to two hours is not enough time and we wouldn't want this to be a half arsed communication piece. Writing to a dedicated audience with one focus on one topic is completely different to writing a piece that needs to cater to a diversified target market with differing requirements. This is the marketer in me speaking now and you will have to take my word for it.

Well the thread did start with 4 pages of amusing pictures of the cookie monster playing poker so someone had to get this thread back on track.

As for marketing - your joint venture with APL means you can now focus less on winning new customers and focus more on retaining your current customer base and increasing patronage and I think in that respect something like a frequent, brief update on the state of competition would be good (but probably not feasible at this stage).

As someone who gets paid to do marketing I think you do a fair marketing job overall though. Social media marketing is about creating conversations with your customers and I think Facebook does this fairly well but can be very informal. Don't underestimate the power of a forum for really getting close to your customer base.
