Please state your interest here if you would like to participate in a study group for the book "Mathematics of Poker" by Bill Chen and Jerrod Ankenman . Basically how it works is, we all read through a chapter by a certain pre-agreed date, then discuss the chapter and figure out any areas of trouble.

One thing that troubled me when I read the first few chapters is that in some instances the authors skip steps in equity calculations and sometimes it takes me a while to figure out where numbers come from.

I think you would need an above average level of maths to participate, but I am more than happy to help anyone wants to participate but needs help with the basics first.

The book details are listed here:

If anyone can find an online version please post link here.

I would love to be involved but like benny the cunt need to buy the book. The maths side of poker is something that lets me down and would love some assistance in learning more. I have really avoided learning anything about the maths of poker and I can only put that down to fear that it may be too hard or maybe sheer laziness. My maths ability is probably low compared to many here but higher than the general population.
