Given the very public stance the 888PL has taken on abuse in any form, I don't think that is the message they want to convey.

So do we give lifetime bans for abuse? Or do we seek reform and acceptance back into the league?

G'day ,

Player in question was also banned for online Abuse last year same time i was .
IS a repeat offender . " i learnt they obviously have not "

Here is what the members Charter says
Members charter says a person who has been banned from 888pl

8. End of Season Finals Qualification
8.1. At the conclusion of an 88PL season; qualifiers for each state's respective Semi Finals will be formulated by the administrators of the league.
8.2. Players must abide by the current qualification processes as outlined in qualification methods (i.e. Top 5 on a venue score board) as well as have participated in 10 regular Away events during the regular season.
8.3. The above qualification rule applies to all Semi Finals and Grand Finals.
8.4. Any player who has been suspended during the regular season will not be permitted to participate in any finals even though they may have achieved the qualification criteria[/quote]

So he has been suspended 3 times for abuse in under 1 year
How can anyone say yeah he's learnt his lesson/or would have learnt it by now .
Did the crime did the time (WTF) Read above 8.4 , Has not done the time

The latter for sure Garth. People should be able to be allowed back so long as they acknowledge their mistake and know that if they do it again they will be banned for life.

The other important thing is to make sure that any sanctions are not waived because sanctions are part of the process of reform.

It is clear that if he is disallowed from playing the GF, he will be more inclined to behave in a proper way in the future knowing that privileges such as the GF can be taken away.

I'm not saying that its ok, just that its on a lesser level than violence. Which is completely true.

Good thing I don't work for 888pl then! ;)

edit: I am assuming that's directed at me Garth. There are levels. Of course if being involved in a physical altercation at 888pl = lifetime ban, then I wouldn't be playing anymore.

Reform and acceptance should be the way to go, but personally, I would be less harsh to bring back players that impact physical violence on fellow players.

Player was not suspended last year for abuse.

He was warned, as were you, Leon day, Darrin Potts, Eric Fantasia and several other players.

Both you and Pottsy were reprimanded for doing exactly the same thing as this player you bring into question now. He was suspended when he was caught abusing another player online, both players in this instance were suspended as they were both as bad as each other.

When suspension was served player attended venue, a mate beat him and player stood up and swore jokingly at his mate (loud enough for everyone to hear) and on this basis he was suspended. Inappropriate use of language and he was on a 3 month probation.

And I believe as players and contributors to the league you both bring admirable qualities to other player experiences; I am happy for this conversation to continue.

But this player was refused entry into the Semi Final.

Also if I did not give you or Pottsy second chances for abusive indiscretion were would we all be now?

But in regards to the rules - i see your point, but in this case I see no reason to refuse entry into the 888PL GF.

Physical abuse is not tolerated and we do not welcome back any players who have permitted violent acts on others.

what forumers should know is that after his 2 suspension was lifted , 3 nights back he got suspended AGAIN .
Now thats a reformed player

Now I'm no lawyer or lawyer in training, but isn't that called "hearsay" and therefore not admisable as evidence?

No further questions Your Honour.

:D Your Honour, there is an exception to the hearsay rule for unavailable witnesses. In this case the witness had a realistic fear of reprisal and their comments should be used as evidence.

What two suspensions lifted Harps?

Player shows as having served two suspensions. I have no idea where you are getting the information from. Two week suspension for abuse online and then three months for his outburst at venue.

First suspesnion 11/03/2010 - 25/03/2010
Second suspension from 1/04/2010 - 30/06/2010
