Re: PETITION TO BRING BACK SHANNON
what happened here? did shannon get the flick?
shannon was by far the best TD i have ever had.
made everyone feel welcome, and always made for a fun tournament.
not sure why they would sack her though, maybe she has moved on to bigger and better things.
if she has been let go without a good reason, then i would seriously think about not playing NPL anymore.

Re: PETITION TO BRING BACK SHANNON
Obviously benny the cunt they wouldn't have let her go without good reason.
maybe she's just not working the Willy anymore.... and if I know Shannon, she's always trying to work the willy.

Re: PETITION TO BRING BACK SHANNON
FYI: I dont know the reasons behind this at all. However, I want to say something, which will probably start another arguement.
Why is the NPL wrong everytime they do something? It seems to me some people just wait for a reason to attack them. I think its time a lot of people start to praise the NPL for the good things.
Like supplying free poker state wide. Running professional, fun and friendly tournaments. Giving people the oppourtunity to play for prizes ($25000 worth every 10 weeks).
I think its time a lot of us start focussing on the positives instead of the negatives all the time. Maybe then a lot more people will start posting here again.
My 2 cents. Like it or lump it. If someone wants to reply, go ahead. But I'm over the arguing, so I won't be biting back.
Enjoy the weather peoples.

Re: PETITION TO BRING BACK SHANNON
Des, I think benny the cunt was saying that if the NPL had done the wrong thing, then he'd consider his playing status... He hasn't said they have. He's just being passionate about his favourite TD.
I considered not playing when my favourite venue closed. But I know that wasn't NPL's fault, and I enjoy the game, so it was a momentary thought. And I need to find a new favourite... (Pooraka Friday:?: )
But... If NPL had forced my venue to close for some piddly reason, then yes, I would've considered it further. What if they closed the Palais because they didn't like the wall colour or the bar length... you'd have to consider the professionalism & the reasons behind it.
But I find NPL to be very professional, and always have the punters interests at heart when coming up with ideas.

Re: PETITION TO BRING BACK SHANNON
This is awful. Shannon is hands down the best TD NPL have. I heard rumblings last night after I left the Willaston that Shannon had been let go, from all her venues. (4, if I'm not mistaken - Old Spot, Willaston, Cavan, Willaston). Why, I don't know.
Obviously, it had to be something serious for her to be flat out fired, and not cautioned, or anything. I can't base a real opinion on this because I don't know the full story, but what I've heard, if true, is very disappointing.
Shannon was, I'll be honest, the reason why I went to many NPL games. She was the friendliest TD you'll ever meet - engaging, honest and funny. She made you feel at ease every game.
I'll wait for an explanation from Garth to put across my full opinion, but this news is very saddening.
FYI: Its not because enough people aren't applauding NPL every two seconds that the forum has seen less activity. I don't see what positive reinforcement has to do with forum activity. And please, don't read into that statement too much. I don't want to start another argument. Just my opinion.

Re: PETITION TO BRING BACK SHANNON
I guess i was trying to say is that "im not going to play npl anymore" is over-reacting and just the tone of his post was that the NPL is in the wrong with no one knowing the whole story.
