Hi & congratulations to all those that did well over the weekend.
After some pretty disappointing results, I am thinking there are 2 ways that my game will improve.
Either:
1) Lay off the champagne OR
2) Start reading some poker books
So if anyone can recommend a couple of good poker books, I would really appreciate it.
Cheers!!

doyle brunson's super system is the first book that should be read by just about anyone!

I am currently waiting on Kill Everyone and a couple of others to arrive in the mail, however, to pass the time I went and bought "Let's Play Poker" by Lee Nelson. It is labelled as a 'beginners' book but after becoming increasingly frustrated at my performances (I've been playing for a year and a half) I thought I would go back to the start and read some basic stuff to see what I had missed.
It's my bible at the moment, I take it with me everywhere! I have only had the book for a week but there isn't a page without some sort of strategy or tip highlighted. I read and I re-read. I have found it rather helpful and I have used quite a few strategies whilst playing in the last week.
As I said, it's classified as a beginners book however I have found it rather helpful to remind myself of some of the basics

Good luck!

Sometimes we all forget the basic stuff. Plus a strong solid grounding in the basics can easily help keep you in good stead whilst your practice some of the advanced techniques.

i would say that 99% of the players on this forum only play micro stakes online. (i.e below 25/50c blinds)
so by definition, we are all still beginners.
sometimes we think we know all the theory, but knowing and applying correctly are two different things.
