Ok, i admit that I am still trying to get my head around the new 888PL, but why are the Foundation Home Events limited to 150 people? For the past 2 nights, I have raced home from work to register (as i am unable to register from work) only to find that registration is full. As i understand it, you need to play a certain number on "home" games & a certain number of "away" games, to qualify for "finals". This makes it difficult.

That qualification is only for a specific scoreboard.

Think of a tuesday night home game as being just the same as going to a venue on a tuesday night (except it's at home and not actually in a venue).

There's still the top 5 same as for the venue.

the reason why the numbers are capped at 150 runners is because otherwise, there would be massive points on offer to stay home, and noone would want to go to the pub

As I understand it, this only comes into things if you qualify through a home event, then you must also have played atleast 5 away events. As benny the cunt alluded to, I guess this is to stop players ONLY playing online and skipping the in venue events.

Yeah, this has come up a lot lately. I've had to call friends to register myself when I'm not at home at the time - and I've fielded requests a few times too. This only happens because the tournament is full after about, an hour. Which is a shame. Tournaments are capped at 150/200 because 888pl don't want players staying home all night playing online poker when they could be at the pub, spending money. Pretty simple really.

The only problem i can see is if people stop going to the regular venues, people wont start going to new venues because they cant play online. I like playing online when im home because it gives me something to do rather than watch tv.

Sometimes you get home from the pub and cannot register for the 11pm one. fills up by an hour before start and about 50 people dont even play.

Yeah good point, I can see where you wouldn't want the venues to be empty coz everyone is sitting at home on their laptop, but the problem still remains that it is very difficult to register for these events in the time frame provided. They all seem to be booked out before I get home too. Redheads has a point here. I want to be able to play home games in addition to away games, I'm not going to stop going to venues. But it is just very difficult to get home and register for the home games...

i think we all agree its a problem

I am certainly open to suggestions.

On this topic though:

We restricted and capped the field sizes simply because we did not want to weight the competition so heavily in favour of the online aspect.

With the field sizes capable and the points up for grabs we would prefer to see some sort of equitable balance between points available online and offline. If we did not we would see an extraordinary amount of our players vacate the venues to simply play the online aspect.

I will say this though the challenge events do not have a player cap and if the freeroll has hit it's cap there is a $2 Challenge event that has a slightly better tournament structure and over the last few days has seen an average field size of 40+.
