Places that could hold a deepstack event

after the success of the weekend in berri, got thinking what venues around the traps could host an event like this
one venue that i reckon could pull it off easily is the vine inn at nuri. their main room is plenty big enough, it's far enough out of the city that most people would stay the night.
what others do you reckon?

i reckon the vine would be a good place for the state finals, it would be big enough for this as well (with a flight system)
i understand that berri want to hold the deepstack again, and if they do, ill definitely be going again, it was awesome fun

We've got Deepstack on the River.
There could be spin-offs... Deepstack by the Beach (maybe Semaphore, the Grand).. Deepstack in the Vale (McLaren Vale maybe)... Deepstack in the Hills (Hahndorf/Mount Barker area)... Deepstack Down Sowf....
It could become like Police Academy

instead of lots of different deepstacks (i think it will make if more of an occasion if there is only 1 or 2 per year)
deepstack
teams event
shootout tourney
novelty tournament / funday
other games (omaha, stud, or even a HORSE tourney)
could have one of these "special" events per season

I Would
love to see a PLO/ PLO 8/ HORSE tourney take place.
Can't see it happening, sadly

Not any time soon, at any rate

why not? it would obviously be a smaller event, because not playing holdem would generate less interest, but i would love to play stuff like this.
even if it was just for a regular NPL trophy or a keyring

benny the cunt, I did mean only two per year..
Deepstack on the River every June/July.
Deepstack else in January/Feb maybe.
But, if Berri has exclusive rights to the Deepstack, then we'll be happy campers I'm sure.
I couldn't see any other games being played either.. Hold'em is the easiest to learn & play without much knowledge. I've played them all online & I really have no idea the strategy involved.

Ist off I'm biased.
You city slickers keep your hands off our Deep Stack event, you get 5 state finals and access to heaps of big player events like Parafield Gradens/Roulettes/Para Hills and Pooraka FC.
Deep Stack must be kept at least 2 to 3 hours from the city centre to make it worth while for the venue, netherless Berri will oboviously improve the next event, a wealth of knowelege would have been gained from the weekends event.
Remember to put your positive suggestion for making it better in the thread simmsy started. ie. pre registration fri night would help.

There are many reasons why a variation tourney would be hard to get off the ground. In HORSE, for example, the betting structures of the stud and razz rounds are something alot people would struggle with early. Same goes for pot limit games.
Throw in the hi/lo calculations, people's limited, if any, experience in dealing with the minutia of the variations, and you'd be looking at a fairly frustrating event.
Bear in mind, though, that I was talking in terms of an event akin to the deepstack, or teams event. You could certainly hold a much smaller game in a different discipline; my idea on that would be to hold it as another, smaller event during one of the marquee events (deepstack etc.)
