Awesome night guys, thank you all for being so well behaved.
It was like being at a wedding.
Everyone was happy. As a Friday Night should be with the anticipation of something special to follow the next day.
A big thank you to Ross Williams for helping out, COULD NOT have done without his help. Also to my regular TA Jason a job well done too.
Thanks also to David Sims for helping with set-up, and all the guys from NPL staff helping set-up the extra tables, and to Brock especially as he was "all over it".
RESULTS-
The evenings first bounty was won early when Skoozie got taken out, new OM Annabelle got sent packing to the bad beat also.
Garth was next out, then a long break as the bounty "hunted" held their own. (its very hard as everyone wants to call you to win a prize)
Venue Ops Manager David Sims was next out proving although he can hold his own on the felt, he's NOT "better than phil ivey".
4 staff still remained when we were down to 4 tables, but it was Andre next, taken down by the eventual winner, closely followed by Dakota.
Nathan and Brock were the last 2 left amongst the points with around even stacks.
Nathan outlast Brock but was also eliminated before final table.
Busting out on the final table bubble in equal 9th position were Sam Kazonis and Reece Smith. Visitors will always remember their first "Reece Smith Experience" Reece is a very good poker player but is a WAY BETTER stand-up comedian. He was on fire as usual.
Of the 8 players on the final table, 6 were riverlanders, including the top 4. WELL DONE RIVERLANDERS! Home ground avantage!
Highest placing visitors were Carol Johnson and Matt Rochford in 5th and 6th respectively.
Locals Tony "2 bucks" Stevens and Rauol Harnois were sent packing early on the final table, consumed by blinds.
I cant remember quite how it went between positions 4 and 6 but i know it involved a flush on the river to knock out multiple opponents.
It came down to Ian Howarth (easily the Riverlands top player), youngster Tim Waldron, and wiley veteran Graham Baldwin.
Ian was all in with his 10-8 clubs dominating Tim's 8-2 off (he only had to half call as he was already big blind and committed), but Tim's 2 of diamonds got on the end of a four-card-flush and Ian was eliminated in 3rd position.
After a few hands, chipstacks were about even with Graham slightly ahead. Tim got all his money in with Kings only to have them smashed by Grahams two pair J-8.
A great night and thanks again to everyone for making the trip! Now you know how we feel every state finals. Woodcroft, Seaford, whats next?
Victor Harbour? Kangaroo Island? Auckland?
Good luck in the Deepstack everyone! GO YOU RIVERLANDERS!!
