State Finals Qualification

Bugger me you could knock me over with a feather, I thought they were happy with the turn out last week. As you know that venue has been very good to me over the last 2 seasons.
So surely the points wouldn't count for one tourney would they?????
Should NPL set a minimum amount of tourneys at a venue to qualify for the state finals, Garth???

Not sure about the Joker Jackpot, but the top 5 will not qualify. We are setting a minimum of four games for any qualifiers to be produced.

I think that's fair re: 4 games. I would assume that the Top 5 would then be the 4 winners +1. Or close to it anyway.
Unless you have 5 players who make final table each week that don't win.
I'll pass on the brandy Garth

Venues that open up with 3 weeks to do won't get many runners now!

That's a good idea Garth.
So, I assume the later start time is Caven related not Flying Club which was a 7pm start. What's the food like there and is the stamping of flight cards reasonable???

That looks better now Dave
But they could have their own grand final within the pub for their top ten or 50 Dave.

Yes, but there's no real motivation for people to go for 3 weeks if there's nothing on the line...
So a place that starts up at the end of the season will have a flawed image of what the NPL can offer - since the state final isn't on the line.

You'd think then Ops would suggest the venue doesn't start until the new season starts, or suggest they start a week earlier. Have we had any 3 week venues (other than the late GJ & early Tonsley, which were existing venues)?

Bacon wins the commonsense post of the day award.
Of course that is the way it should be, doesn't always mean it will happen that way. But hopefully from now on it will.
And Bob, the place is nice, food is great and prices reasonable. I believe if you eat in the front bar it is plenty cheaper again.

I think that's a bit unfair on people who play at a venue for the first 3 weeks, and then it closes, meaning they have to find another venue to qualify at. Even 1 or 2 weeks is harsh as you will find it hard to make up the points in the remaining 7-9 weeks.
