Red chips?

has anyone ever noticed that in the top right hand corner of the NPL website, and in other pictures there are sometimes a red coloured chip featured?
Im assuming that this colour chip might be in use in other states, and if so, what is it worth? and how or why does the system in South Australia differ?

First seasons keyring was red.

You will see red chips been used at the Deepstack event. These chips will be worth 25,000.
The original chip colours used by NPL vary greatly to what is currently used today.

Garth, has there been any info regarding the deepstack tourney posted on here or on the website yet?
rumour has it that it will be late june at the Berri Club. when will the rego for this tourney open?
