It would help newbies as well. I know when I first started I was scared to ask how much the chips were worth cause I knew people would pick on me cause I didn't know what I was doing. The TDs don't say this is their speeches anymore, or maybe they only do when there's new people that have registered

This is an excellent reason why you should be verbalising your bet.

If you say "Bet 200" and put in 1000, you can change it. If you throw in two pinks, then too bad.

Try playing in the darker venues, with black & green chips. They are hard to differentiate sometimes.

yeah exactly right - i make a point of always saying what i am doing before i do it, that way there is no confusion.

and it also avoids people getting shitty when the blinds are 100/200, and someone chucks a single 500 in preflop, and the more experienced players have to tell them that they are only calling

but there should always be some leway, especially if the person is new. it also gives them a chance to learn

I think the display on the laptops has a run down of what the chips are? Or at least they used to - I've pointed that out to new peoples before when they've had to ask a few times.

Blinds, what are they?
Pardon me, but I think you'll find that's a shovel. See you next Tuesday!

This is particularly bad at the Ballroom, the lighting isnt so crash hot so for the first few blind levels it was happening probably every 2nd or 3rd hand.

Why wont you play K10 anymore Bacon? did the mean old 7 5 teach you that its an awful hand?
