Correct me if im wrong here, but i believe the first berri deepstack was born partly from discussion here on this forum, so if we can prove that there would be demand for such an event in the future, then if we ask nicely enough but loudly enough at the same time, then maybe 888pl will consider it.

yeah yeah... scanning through 6 pages of posts whilst responding to emails and helping users unscrew their computers I might miss the odd post.

But rewinding back to your post... it wasn't really a "Yes, there will be a deepstack. Where & how would you like it" post it was more a limping "If if is revived..." non-committal type response.

So I was correct in that there hasn't been a firm commitment by management. (gee.. I'm glad I can read too. lol)

My response was quite simple and I thought well constructed.

This event will not be revived unless a proactive venue approaches us wishing to host this event. I will not waste our time approaching venues to see if they wish to host these types of events at this time. There is too much negotiation required and it is very time consuming.

If WAFC was too approach us and say we want to host this then I would jump at the chance, an event is only as good as the venue and staff that host the event, and in the case of the WAFC; they go beyond any of our wildest expectations in helping my staff out in producing a top quality event.

At the moment you are in fantasy land, and organising and event of this magnitude takes up too many man hours and I think fixing websites, scoreboards, results and player accounts is of utmost paramount importance at this juncture in time.

Garth is saying he needs for a venue to be proactive.
Now if I remember correctly the Kingy had a deepstack on Sundays that was cancelled but due to the overwhelming demand of players, the Kingy brought it back.
So what we need to do as players is be proactive, we need to work out a suitable venue and then work out who has strings they can pull. So you know someone in management at a great venue? Do they already have 888PL there?
Get into their ears, sell it to them. Then maybe, they will be proactive with 888PL.
What we need to do first is work out the selling points.
What are the benefits to the venue?
What are the benefits to the local area?
How many people would you expect at this event?
Lets get these worked out, then start scouting for locations. Let the players be proactive!

That's all I'm asking for. It's not about players talking to us but also getting in venue's ears to pump them up for it as well. Hence why Matty was instrumental in getting the deepstack back to the Kingy!

It's no road trip but the WAFC certainly do quite well at hosting the big events. I'm much more impressed with them than I was with the Port Club!

If anyone has any influence there maybe they could mention something? I think it would be an advantage with them having hosted large poker events there previously, foot in the door so to speak.

Not really fussed where it is though, it was around 3 hours to Berri (depending who was driving) so another hour or 2 is no biggie.

Side events would be a lot easier to organise than at the previous Berri deepstacks, as already mentioned - there weren't cash SNG's at that time. GF SNG's would surely do well.

Have to agree with Garth re: lots of things to get sorted BUT not sure what that has to do with any sales type staff. Isn't Nathan in charge of special events? Tell him to get off his enormous rear
